When I finally set my eyes on a village colored with life in the middle of my fourth day, I felt like crying, but instead smiled and stared at everything I saw. I was snapped back to reality when I realized that walking here was the easy part. With no one around me nobody could hurt me, but myself. This village was filled with people and animals that could hurt me in so many ways. I trembled with fear for a moment before lifting up my chin and walk into the wolf's den. Nobody looked at me, instead, I stared at them trying to learn the proper way to behave.

Everyone had a place to go and they were walking there quickly. The children played together in the middle of the village. Some people were dressed very finely and others were dressed almost as bad as me. I passed shop after shop without finding anyone recruiting. At the end of the gravel road with the shops, I heard a strange noise. I followed it to a dark corner where a grown man was attacking a little boy. I gazed at the scene trying to figure out if this horrible thing is a usual occurrence in this place.

"I'm sorry." The boy sobbed

"Then go down on your knees and beg for forgiveness boy." The man sneered

The boy continued to cry, ignoring the man's words. The man punched him and it was too much strength for a boy that was, at most, eight could handle.

"You can't even apologize properly. You messed with me not the other way around. If you beg on your knees nothing will happen. Are you too proud? What does a brat like you have to be proud of?" He spat at the boy.

Seeing the spittle on the boy's face I couldn't stay silent anymore. I didn't care if people were allowed to do this here.

"I'm sorry sir, but I'm new here and I'm curious about something." I interrupted

"You talking to me missy?"

"Yes, you sir. Is it normal to antagonize a child in these parts because I personally cannot condone it?"

He turned red with fury." Girly, this is none of your business."

I nodded in agreement."Yes, but I can't stand here and watch you kill a child."

"I'm not going to kill him," he said spraying spit on my face.

I wiped it away with my hand, " Just make him nearly die?"

"Watch it missy I don't like harming women."

"No, just children."

"I might make an exception for you though."

"Be my guest," I said, spreading my arms out and bracing myself.

The boy looked at me like I was an Angel or something. I smiled reassuringly at him as the older man swung at me. I dodged him and grabbed the child. I prayed that my plan would work. I lifted him into my arms and sprinted towards the people that looked like guards. I slowed down when I got close to them and the man stopped chasing us when he spotted them. I put the boy down to look at him in the eyes.
