When Nee and I reached the room and get settled into our bed she turned to me. "Sometimes I get weird dreams in my sleep. I never remember them, but I have been told I can talk and even scream because of them."

I smiled at her. "That's fine. I will comfort you if you scream and tell you what you said in the morning."

Nee hugged me. "Thank you."

I patted her back. " It's nothing. I'm mama Alesta after all."

Nee was correct though, she did talk in her sleep. She even opened her eyes. They glowed lightly.

"With the mark of the heavens born in the forest with one road,

It will come, protect, and bring a new era of happiness to the kingdom.

A pure heart on a noble mission will find the mark.

The mark must find the four wronged ones in order to succeed before an era of darkness overcomes us all."

Nee said in a dark,dead-like, trance-like voice.

I didn't know what it meant, but I could tell that Nee was not as normal as we thought. She was a very special girl. The question now was what makes her special? What made her this way? What was Nee's story? The real one. Did she even know? What happens when everyone knows? I hugged her while I sorted out my thoughts. I wouldn't mention the words in the morning. I wouldn't even acknowledge it if she did not mention it. I must protect this special girl. My adopted daughter. I fell back asleep thinking about Nee.

"Wake up. Wake up." a sweet voice beckoned.

"Hey, mama, get up." a rude one added.

I opened my eyes to see the girls standing above me.

"Good morning." I greeted.

"Is it?" Alex said." I don't know about that."

"Gregory made breakfast," Nee said, helping me out of bed.

" It's not the worst thing in the world," Alex said.

I nodded and walked with them into the kitchen. A grumpy Gregory was sitting on a stool with a book in his hands. As I got closer I noticed it's the book the prince gave to us.

"Good morning." I greeted him.

He grumbled something unintelligently and replied focused on his task. I grabbed a plate and started to eat.

"Where did all this food come from? This is more than what we got in the forest."

"I went to the market with the money the lady gave us," Nee answered.

I nodded my head and dug in, the others shortly followed me. We spent the whole day cleaning. We spent the whole week cleaning this house. Mopping, dusting, cleaning the yard, fixing holes, organizing, and on and on. The house was practically gleaming by the time it was clean, or rather almost clean. The last thing to do was go through the books and find ones relevant to us and put all the others somewhere else safe, so no novels, just the educational stuff. The day we had to get the lady I woke up to see piles of books everywhere. I took our basket and filled it up with books, then escaped the room to put them away after sorting them. All I picked up were novels. I kept going back and forth doing the same thing until everyone else woke up.
