We was chilling and eating food until I decided to be petty. "So Kevin, where you from." I asked. "Uhm Queens ?" He said. "That's it ? I mean, tell me bout you bro. You gon be apart of gang right ? whoever boys wit Shay boys wit us, ain't that right." I said looking at Dre, Vinnie, and Vonte. The looked at each other then slowly nodded in agreement with me. "I mean, we guess." Dre spoke as he shrugged. "Uh let's see, I have a brother and 2 little sisters. As you know, my brother is here, I came back in hopes of finding him. As for my sisters, they are over seas with my mom." I nodded my head. "Military kid huh ? can you fight ?" I asked sitting upright. "Miah." Keilani said in a warning tone. "What ? I'm asking the kid a question." I turned back to face Kevin.
"It's all good. Um yes, I can fight. Being raised as a military son, you already have to be manly because you're a boy, it didn't help that I had a drill Sargent as a father. So I was always kinda tougher than I needed to be." He explained. "Awe, daddy issues huh ? well join the club." I said. "Yup, while you was running around playing army, I had to be the Sargent and the soldier. After my dad left, I took charge in my house being the Sargent, but I still had to listen to my mom and raise my baby sister. Fight for them no matter what. Not to mention I had to fight a war with the world growing up black in America with no daddy to teach me right from wrong. Also having to fight the internal war of wondering why he left." I stood up and leaned down to his level so I can talk in his ear.
"See the difference between you and me, I'm tough and in the field for real because it's how shit worked in my hood. Not because it's how my daddy was. I wasn't saved from the street life because my dad brought me everywhere with him. A word of advice, your tough and my tough are 2 different toughs. Don't try to test it out." I shifted my head from the side of his face so I was no longer talking in his ear, and looked him dead in the eyes. Then I cracked a smile which he returned. "You got anywhere I can smoke ?" he asked. "Back porch." I stood up straight and pointed in the direction of the sliding doors.
We never broke eye contact until he was walking towards the door and my eyes burned a hole in his back. I sat down and began to use my phone until I felt a sting on my arm. I looked up to see Keilani with her fist balled up meaning she just punched me. "And what was that baby punch for ?" I asked amused. "Why the fuck are you being so extra." "I asked him a question." "then threatened him." I rolled my eyes. "Mmcht PLEASE ! I gave him ADVICE." "Really ? because it sounded like a threat."
It was a warning actually.
She said crossing her arms. "Well maybe you're just soft." I said going back on my phone. "You lucky Shay ran to the bathroom." I looked at her crazy. "And what the fuck would he have done ?" I said standing. I walked to the stairs and yelled. "AYE SHAY GET UP OUT THE BATHROOM, I JUST BITCHED YA MANS COME DO SUM !" I yelled. "The fuck you mean I'm lucky." Then I heard Shay come down. "Man what's the yelling bout ?" he asked. "I just bitched ya mans, now Keilani telling me I'm lucky you wasn't down here. So I just wanna know what the fuck you would've done if you were." I said.
He looked at me confused. "Bro you good ?" He asked. "Shit, I'm chillin." I said sitting down. "This nigga buggin right now." Vinnie said. "Vinnie stop." Crystal spoke. "Yeah nigga listen to your bitch and stop." I said. "My bitch ? nigga you mean MY GIRL ? she not my bitch." He said standing up. "Yeah but that's how you treat her nigga ! like she ya bitch." I said. "Go fuck wit a real nigga sweet heart." I said. "A real nigga ? what real nigga ? a real nigga like you ? One who can cheat on his bitch with a shorty she hates ? a real nigga who so fucked up in the head he can't take care of his mom or baby sister ? a real nigga who life so unstable he considered ending it ? a real nigga who runs from every problem that comes his way ? a real nigga who don't even got a pops to teach him how to be one ? you ain't no real nigga, you a BITCH !" Vinnie yelled from across the room.
