The group waited at that border until the sun sky began to color with light. All of them gathered around the grave that was freshly dug. The hole not holding their new friend.
Nia stood and looked at it and wondered how many lives this new planet would cost them. And would she be able to save any of them. With the commander title now laying with her, it was her duty to protect her people. But how could she if she didn't know where the threat lied.
With the sun now lighting the way for them, the group began to make their way to find anyone who might be there. But by now the path had lead them to a ledge that overlooked the fields below. Each field a different color but cutting off before the forest. The radiation fence seemed to stretch along the perimeter keeping the forest out.
"What kind of people have a radiation fence?" Emori asked as they looked over the fields they had passed through.
"The kind that want to keep something out." Clarke replied vaguely making them all wonder what exactly lied in the forest.
"Beacon should be right up ahead." Bellamy announced reminding them about where they were trying to get to.
"What are we gonna tell Raven?" Clarke asked wondering about the mechanic who had recently blossomed a relationship with Shaw.
"He died a hero." Bellamy answered but Nia couldn't help but feel like there was more to that.
"Look I don't want to make this about us, but-" Murphy began to speak up only for Clarke to cut him off.
"Then don't. Shaw just saved your life, Murphy." She stated.
"I'm aware. I'm also aware that we just lost our pilot." He spoke his original reasoning. "Madi's still up there. So is Atlas and the girls." He listed to those who still had people on the main ship making the group stop as they looked at him. "You guys worried you're never gonna see them again?"
His words meant to poke at the others but only Clarke was the one who was affected by it. She turned to Murphy and pushed him slightly. Fully ready to hit him again. Truth was Nia was more than willing to not see her children again if it meant they would be safe. This planet they were on already had dangers they were not familiar with.
In fact, it was her reasoning why she gave Niylah and Tate their orders. If there was anyone she could trust to watch them, it was Octavia. The girl may be different than how she was when she first landed on Earth but Nia knew that she just needed someone to ground her and she believed that Atlas might be that person to do it.
But before Clarke's attack could go further, Miller quickly stepped in. His words trying to calm the situation. But it seems that Murphy wasn't going to let it deescalate so simply.
"Yeah. Your Red Queen is still up there, too, Miller. Who you gonna follow now?" He poked at the former guard and his loyalty.
This time Bellamy was the one who spoke up before Miller could do anything. But Nia couldn't help but wonder why Murphy was push people's buttons. It was like he was trying to instigate the whole group.
