Everyone was ready to go all they were waiting for was Raven. Bellamy and Nia went to retrieve her.
Atlas was fully wake now and was rather fussy after he was reunited with his mother, not wanting to let her go. Leaving her take him with them. Both on guard in case another one of the prisoners woke.
"Raven." Bellamy called to her but her focus was settled on the screen.
The look on her face was not welcoming to them. It set Nia's nerves on edge as the look seemed to damper when she saw Atlas.
"Someone has to stay up here." She finally broke the news to them.
"What?" Nia asked not believing what she said. She sucked in a breath at the thought of leaving her friend behind.
"With remote access to the veto-pods blocked, we won't be able to operate them, either. Pulling the plug from the ground is not an option. Someone has to stay." Raven explained with a heavy heart. Her eyes settling on Atlas who smiled at her and reached out for her.
"No. No. No way. Ok, we make the threat from up here on lasercom." Bellamy was against them leaving anyone behind again. It had taken a toll on him over the years and it made him wonder just how broken he might've been if Nia had stayed behind.
"We won't know if they're following through. Look, I've played out every angle. This only works if we have eyes on the ground." Raven stayed that this was the only option if they wanted a truce.
Nia could see the heaviness that coated her eyes. She was withholding something and she wasn't sure what.
"Fine. Show me how to do it." Bellamy responded. If he had to stay behind, then he would but he would ask someone else to make that choice. He knew what this would mean for him missing out on Atlas but it would mean that he had a future.
"I can't. There are nine security measure to by passed, and teaching you would take days, and knowing you, you'd probably still screw it up. It has to be me." Raven finalized hoping to ease their discomfort.
"I am not leaving you here." Bellamy was still against the idea.
"I'll be fine. Emori can get you down. That's what I trained her for. You need to go and find your sister, and make a deal for peace with the prisoners. Once everyone's friends, they'll come back up got their people, and I'll hitch a ride down with them." Raven explained the future that they hoped to achieve.
Nia hated this. She didn't want them to leave someone behind but it was the only way it could work. She was beginning to realize that what they would face would only come with more hard choices.
"What if the threat doesn't work? You'll be stuck up here, Raven. You'll have to kill 300 people. Have you thought about that?" Bellamy asked knowing the burden that would be. Raven had never faced something like that and it would be hard for her to face. "No. No. We'll come up with something else. I left Clarke behind to die, and I, I'm not doing that again."
