Just to mention: a lane in swimming is up the length of the pool once, so two lanes would be up and back. (If that made sense)

I gently glided across the water whilst waiting for the rest of the team to get here. I loved swimming, I truly did. The feeling of relief as the water splashes your back, there is no better feeling. I was always the first to show up to practice and the others would follow shortly after, not that I minded. There were only five of us on the team including our manager.

Once the team showed up we get started with warm up lanes. We finished those pretty quickly so we decided to do a relay or two. Me, being the backstroke swimmer, started in the water. Once I heard the whistle blow I launched myself backwards and did two lanes in 46 seconds, which for me is pretty slow. I hopped out of the pool to be tackled into a bear hug by none other than my best friend, captain fo the volleyball team, Terushima Yuuji. "Holy shit {y/n}! You swam like.. Super fast! You were like Nyoom and then Swoosh!" He yelled excitedly while making exaggerated hand movements. I chuckled at his childishness, "Thanks Teru, but I should have been so much faster." I sort of mumbled the last part, as if I was thinking out loud. "Bitch it took you like 10seconds! What do you mean you should be faster?!" I just shrugged and walked away to go get changed. Teru always came to collect me from practice, as long as volleyball finished on time that is. It was kind of cute how he did it, he would always cheer me on at my relays and competitions too. He was quite literally my number one fan. Of course I returned the favour so I always attended his matches and cheered him on until my throat gave out. He was an incredible player, and honestly his team needed him.. of course I would never tell him that.

I emerged from the changing room fully dressed with my {f/c} backpack slung over my right shoulder. "Stop! I coulda dropped my croissant!" He chuckled. That was another thing he did, always quoting vines, "your such a dork." I muttered whilst playfully rolling my eyes at him. "Awh {y/n}!" He pouted "you love me really though." He winked at me and smiled. That's when I thought about it, I did love him! I was in love with my best friend Teru-fucking-Shima. I was overthinking his statement but..
We walked down the road from school, him talking about volleyball practice, and me still pondering the fact I love my best friend. "Hey {y/n}?" He asked his brown eyes staring into my {e/c} ones "Are you okay? I mean.. you seem kinda out of it.. it's not because your swim time is it?" He asked genuine concern in his voice. Dumbass, it's because I fucking love you! I thought, or at least I thought I did. I looked at Terushima now staring at me with wide eyes. "Y-you love me..?" He stuttered. Then it hit me, "Fuck! I said that out loud?!" I yelled, I wanted to fucking die. I don't know what happened, I don't know where the confidence came from, but, I walked up to him grabbed him by the collar of his volleyball jersey and smashed his lips onto mine. He kissed back almost immediately. He licked my bottom lip, seeking entrance which I immediately granted. He slipped his tongue into my mouth in one slick movement, his tongue piercing creating a cold sensation as he explored my mouth. We did this for about 3 minutes before we both pulled away in need of oxygen. "So are we-" I went to ask about our status before I was interrupted by an over excited Terushima "YES! I mean- sure if you want to or whatever." He mumbled. "Well then.. I will see you tomorrow my lovely boyfriend." I kissed his nose and began walking to my house, leaving behind a very flustered Terushima.
