As the days pass and the feeling in Wakatoshi grew every time he glanced at you, something was stirring inside of (Y/n).

Whenever you watched Tendou practice your eyes always drifted to the ace.
When he jumps he seems to be levitating. When he hits the ball you feel a shiver run through your spine. When he serves you always felt the need to run out on the court and receive it.

You wanted to play.
You wanted to play with him.

Did you want to play?

Or did you just want him?

You suppressed these feelings for the longest time but they always resurfaced whenever watched him serve, spike, and receive.

You lost your ability to play on the court on you last game of middle school.

You were running for the ball as it went off court and ended up injuring your ankle in the process.

You still supported your team on the remaining days.
But when the year ended, it hit you like a truck.

You'll never play volleyball again

You're useless now

What are you gonna do now?

What am I supposed to do?

As summer turned into fall, and fall turned into winter, your feeling for the ace never left your side.

The thought was always in the back of your mind, forever lingering there.

"(N/n) Chan!"

Tendou waved as he walked your way with Ushijima by his side.

"Wanna go for ramen? Practice was canceled, the school's doing renovations on the gym and it's the weekend!"

Ushijima's stare was locked on you, making you slightly uncomfortable.

"Sure. I really could use a break."

The three of you walked to the ramen shop passing a jewelry shop in the process.
You stopped and admired a certain necklace that had small rose gold flowers around it.

Ushijima noticed it.

He noticed the way your eyes lit up when you saw the necklace.

"WE'RE HERE!"

Tendou bursted into the shop and the owner glaring at him and one of the workers said "Tendou! Would you like the usual?"

The worker was a middle age woman with a fond smile.

"Yup! But can I also get two menus for my friends here?"

She looked at you and Wakatoshi and smiled.

"Of course! Here you go!"
She handed Tendou the menus and he gave them to you and Wakatoshi.

"Let me know when you guys are ready!"

The woman went back into the kitchen.

You all sat down and talked about various things.
Volleyball, Manga, and other sports.

Mainly volleyball.

Just volleyball.

You ordered your food and so did Wakatoshi.

When the ramen arrived you all dug in.

After you guys payed and left the ramen shop, Tendou wanted ice cream.

You stopped at a convenience store and got GariGari popsicles.

"Hey I'm gonna go use the restroom I'll be right back."

You got up and left to the bathroom leaving the two boys alone.

They sat in silence for a couple of seconds before Tendou decided to say something.

"Do you like (y/n)-chan?"

Ushijima turned his head to Tendou with a light blush on his face.

He looked at the ground and clenched his hands.

"Yes."

They sat there.

"You know her birthday is coming up right?"

Ushijima locked his gaze onto Tendou.

"What does she like?"

"Man, your in deep.."

Tendou put his arm around the ace and told him all that you liked.

When you came back they walked you home for the weekend.

When you were walking up the stairs to enter your home... the door bursted open.

"WHAT WERE YOU GUYS DOING WITH MY BABY. oh hi Tendou"

Your father began to yell at Wakatoshi, threatening him that if he hurt his daughter he would regret the day he was born.

"Dad."

"Yes darling??"

He turned to you with a kind aura around him.

"Wakatoshi isn't the type of guy to do that. Ask him a question about what he does in his free time."

"Hmm. Fine."

He walked back up to the ace and he then realized that he was the same size as him.

"What do you do in your spare time?"

Ushijima looked at the man with a very serious face.

"I practice my volleyball skills. I need to improve my skills more."

Your father looked at him suspiciously and came to a conclusion.

"Oh ok...he's a volleyball idiot."

You father then walked back into the house without another word.

You apologized for your dads behavior and ran inside.

"Wow. Her dad is way more intimidated by you than when he first met me!"

"What do you mean?"

Tendou began to walk away with his arms behind his head.

"Her father didn't yell at me or ask me questions when we met. He's intimidated by you"

"Isn't that a bad thing?"

"Not really. It means hes scared that you might be worthy for his daughter."

"Oh.."
