The Spike Ushijima Wakatoshi x Reader

Get Ready for Prom!

It's been a couple of months since you've become friends with the boys volleyball team and a while since you grew feelings for Ushijima.

The only person you told about this was the matchmaker himself, Tendou.

Of course he was ecstatic about the new and told you no matter what it took, you two would be together.

But sadly, graduation day was creeping up on the Shiratorizawa third years and Tendou saw that he had limited time to make the two realize their feelings for each other. But his last chance was at prom.

(Y/n) had absolutely no knowledge about love in anyway and Ushijima had no idea how to interact like a normal human being.

The day started normally for Ushijima.
After his little encounter with you, he decided that going running with you would help his stamina.
So every other day, you and Ushiwaka would go on a run all around campus.

During these runs are where you developed the most feelings for each other.
You learned about his family.
He learned about your interests.

You told him things you've never told anyone else and felt safe whenever you were around him.

There was one time when a drunk middle aged man was hitting on you while the two of you stopped to get a drink.

He reeked of alcohol and put his arm around you while Ushiwaka went to the bathroom.

"You know I've been keeping my eye on you for a while...~"
His hands wondered as you went frozen with fear.

"Why don't you ditch him and hang with me?~"

He faced towards you and moved you gave to look at you.

"Now be a good girl and-"

"What do you think your doing."

Ushijima the pulled you out of the man's embrace and held you close.

"Eh? What do you want little high school boy? She needs a man like me."
He pointed his thumb to himself in a very cocky manner.

Ushijima pulled out his phone and proceeded to call someone.

After he hung up, you heard multiple footsteps rushing towards the two of you.

Ushijima the let go of you then you felt another pair of hands on your shoulders.

You looked up and it was Tendou.

"What the fuck-"

You looked behind Tendou and saw the WHOLE FUCKING TEAM.

The drunk man stumbled back a little but still tried to act cocky.

"You think all you little boys can beat me?!"

They all glared at the man.

"No I called them to simply escort (Y/n) back to the dorm while I hold you here for the administration to take care of you."

"We'll take it from here son."

A young police man came up behind the team and proceeded to arrest the drunk man.

"Thank you for protecting me."

You bowed deeply to the whole team and stood back up.

"It's not like Ushiwaka-chan overreacted or anything"

Tendou began to poke at the tall ace and a light blush grew on your face.
(Why did that rhyme??)

"Wait! Do you guys wanna go help set up for the prom!?"

You pointed toward the building where the dance was going to be held.

"My friend told me that their short on hands today so do you wanna go and help?"

The boys looked at one another and agreed with you.

You all walked to the building and the decoration team looked extremely relieved to see that taller people came to help.

"T-thank you so much!"

One of your friends was head of the Decoration team and he seemed way less stressed about the whole thing.

"USHIWAKA!"

Tendou jumped on his stoic friend and pointed toward the door where you were decorating the entrance.

"Go ask her the the prom!"

Ushijima looked where he was pointing and a light blush grew on his face.

"She's probably already going with someone.."

Wakatoshi tried to walk away but Tendou grabbed his arm.

"Nope! She's been asked but she hasn't accepted any!"

"I-I'll try then.."

You were putting up some fairy lights in the front entrance outside to make it seem more welcoming when Wakatoshi came outside.

"(Y/n)?..."

You turned around and waved to him and proceeded to climb down the ladder you were standing on.

"What's up?"

He turned away with blush on his face and began to stutter.

"Would you like to go to prom together.."

He put his hand up to his face trying to cover his deep red blush.

"Yes.."

"W-what?!"

Ushijima looked at you with surprise.

"Y-yes!"
You jumped at him putting your arms around his neck with tears forming in your eyes.

He hugged you back.
The two of you stayed like that until you heard a camera shutter.

The whole team was taking pictures of you and when you looked at them the scatter around the building.

Ushijima looked back at you and kissed your forehead.

"Thank you"
