'A LION DOES NOT CONCERN ITSELF WITH THE OPINION OF SHEEP'
Ellie's father was speaking with Jaime as well as a few members of the Kings Guard. As she approached, their eyes looked up to her and she stood silently, awaiting for them to speak first. "We will gather at dawn and head North. If the boy wants a war, a war is what we'll give him." Her father said, confidently. She rolled her eyes descretely. She wished he would just command Joffrey to quit acting like a prat and make a negotiation with the Stark family. The false claims that Ned Stark had been imprisoned for treason. It was absurd. Send Eddard into exile if he must, but she knew her young nephew more than she cared to and she heard the secrets and rumors of the blonde sociopath. He was ruthless, and it was quite terrifying.
"Father, must we be so hasty?" She spoke up and a quick glare was shot at her. "All I am saying, is we should ride this out. Wait until Joffrey tries the hand." She attempted to reason with him but he looked back to Jaime and spoke again.
"When we leave, we shall bring as many troops as possible. I want you to lead the initial charge." He continued, ignoring her commentary. "Ellie, I expect you to join us, as this is a war you've been desperately waiting for." Ellie looked up at him. Thrill coursed through her body, as he was not wrong, she really was waiting for her time to finally go into battle. It's rare that women are seen at battle sights, but fear ran through Tywin that she would rebel, as she's always seemed to do, and he'd rather keep her under a close eye than let her wander into her own world and find herself killed.
"Of course, father. I'd be honored." Jaime smirked, happy for her, but also knowing her father did this all due to him continuing to push for her. She smiled once agin, before heading off to the garden. She may have been happy to assist in the war, she wasn't too thrilled of the idea of fighting against the Starks, as she saw no issues with them and felt this was a rash decision. But, this was her chance to prove herself as a great asset to her family, beside good looks and witty comments. She was conflicted, at best. Knowing that her family was wrong, but growing up, she had it ingrained in her mind 'family over everything'. Even if she didn't fully believe that, she still had to push past her morals, and stick by their side, whether she wanted to or not. It was her duty, and what more would she be able to do, that wouldn't get her killed?
As she ran through the flowers, and bushes, she made her way down the long windy path, until she finally reached the pond, where Caspian stood, in solitude. She rushed up to him, jumping in a hug, before he set her back down onto her feet.
"What're you so excited for, m'lady?" He gave a cheeky smile.
"My brother has convinced my father to let me witness battle. I dont know how he did it, but by god, he did." She smiled, at him, feeling excitement course through her body. Caspian's smile, on the other hand, faded quickly at this statement.
"You're leaving?" He asked, furrowing his brow. "Battle is no place for a woman."
"Excuse me?" She let out an angered gasp, stepping back from him. "I've knocked you on your ass plenty of times, I think I will be just fine. And not only that, but I'll be by my brothers side." She insisted, growing cross with the boy.
"Forgive me, El, but I have my concerns." He insisted, extending his hand, attempting to apologize, in his own way.
"Understandable. But you have nothing to be concerned for. You really think the Stark boy is going to be able to take on our army? I may despise my family the majority of the time, but I can't deny we are powerful. And our army is much more so." She insisted, yet again. He stood silent, staring at her, trying to conjure up the right words. "I'm not asking your permission, Caspian. I'm simply giving you the kind gesture of informing you." She finally said, through the thick, quiet air.
"When do you depart?" He asked, sadly.
"At dawn. That leaves us with one more night together." She smirked, stepping closer to him, and grabbing the loop in his belt, pulling his body toward hers. She reached up, embracing him within her arms.
