*SUMMER*

Bella Leticia Zambada-García was dying living with her mother. The woman had a tendency to lash out and go on week-long binges where no one could contact her. The only reason the ten-year-old stayed anymore was because she was almost positive her mother would overdose and die without her. The young girl had been counting the days until summer, marking them off on a calendar she got. One more day, one more day until she was back in Chicago and back with Carl Gallagher. She knew he wasn't doing well, in the off chance she could get ahold of her mother's phone and call Bella would find that Carl was in more trouble than ever. He was being sent home every day from school and it was likely that he would flunk third grade again.

Carl Gallagher was a mess these days. The first month was the hardest, he would fight anyone that tried to get him out of bed and seemed to enjoy torturing poor street animals even more. He was always angry, more than usual and was terrorizing the kids of Chicago's South Side. Fiona was about to snap but she knew things would "calm" with the return of Bella.

Elvia was planning to give her daughter complete freedom for her last summer in Chicago. Keyword: last but still had not broken the news to her daughter. She knew the girl would hate her even more than before but nothing was more important to Elvia than her so called "pride". She wasn't gonna continue to go back and forth between Chicago and Texas and had her mind set completely on it.
