I thought my routine here was finally going fine until today. Until once again, he has thrown me for a loop.

When I woke up this morning, the atmosphere around the house was different. There was a slight hum around the house, and I couldn't quite figure out what was going on. The servants were whispering amongst themselves in the hallways and the kitchen. The feel in the air was almost electric.

When I found Adrian and Gianna that morning, they too had a sense of giddy, childlike excitedness about them. Gianna, who was a servant around the house also, seemed to get along with Adrian very well. She was a little bit loud and excitable, but she was always kind to me, so I enjoyed hanging around her.

I furrowed my brows and went over to them. I brought up my findings of something being different. They both looked at me as if I was from a different planet because I did not know what was going on.

"No one told you about the Don's gala this weekend?" Gianna looked at me as if I had two heads. I had no idea what was going on or why the Don would be having a gala.

Gianna explained to me that every year Donte threw a gala at the estate to celebrate his charitable foundations. A front, obviously, but nonetheless the party of a century that everyone in the house waited for all year. I'm not sure why they were so excited. Yes, we got to dress up in a bit fancier uniform, but it wasn't like we got to enjoy the gala or attend as we were servers at the event.
