"Sophia."

The brunette turned around to find the Blake she had no qualms with, the Blake she was beginning to think of as a sister, standing before her, rocking on the balls of her feet. Her eyes were wide with excitement, with intrigue at what the drop ship meant. Sophia could see in her eyes that she was dying to know who was in it.

But underneath all of that excitement, and even a little bit of relief, she could see that she was also a little bit terrified.

Octavia have spent the entirety of her life hiding from the people still roaming around their floating metal home. The last time they had found her, they had sentenced her to death. Not for an awful crime that she had committed or an illegal group that she had started, but simply because she was alive.

If that wasn't a kick in the face, Sophia didn't know what was.

"Hey. Are you okay?" Octavia's eyes gleamed as she latched onto Sophia's elbow.

"Me? What about you? How's your shoulder?" She nodded in the direction of Sophia's still healing wound before looking up at her with expectant eyes.

"It's good, O. Better than before." She couldn't help but smile as amusement brightened her eyes. The other girl rolled hers, a chuckle slipping from her lips none the less.

"If you do anything to make it worse, I swear to God that I will tie you to a beam in the drop ship until it heals. You got me?" Sophia lifted her hands in mock surrender.

"I would never." The joking tone left her voice as her eyes turned serious. "So, what's the go? When are we leaving?"

"We aren't." Sophia's eyebrows furrowed in confused surprise.

"Why not? A drop ship just landed. What if they need our help?"

"Bellamy put a pause on it. He's making us wait til morning." Octavia explained.

"Why? What's it matter if we go now?" Octavia shrugged.

"He said something about it being too dark. I don't know. Sometimes he's full of shit." A laugh void of humour fell from Sophia's mouth as she turned to see Clarke and Finn wander back into the camp, their eyes alight with relieved excitement. But something one of the other girls said had them racing off, their foreheads growing the kind of lines teachers got when they caught you doing something you shouldn't.

"Hey, what's going on?" Sophia blurted when the pair came racing back out of Bellamy's tent.

"Bellamy's gone." Clarke announced, barely slowing down for the brunette.

"That doesn't make any sense. Octavia said he wanted us to wait until morning."

"Exactly. He's up to something. So, we need to get to the drop ship first. You coming?" It was barely a second before the conflicted girl nodded.

What the hell was Bellamy doing? Why would he tell them all to wait when he only planned on going himself? What could he accomplish that the rest of them couldn't? In actual fact, whatever happened to the person in that ship would be dealt with much better if there was more of them. Surely, he knew that.

Unless...

He didn't want them all to get there first. Unless he needed to be the only one there so that no one else could stop him from doing whatever it was he planned on doing.

"Shit." She whispered, reaching up to pull her hair back into a high pony tail. If there was one thing she had learnt about Bellamy Blake in her time on the ground, it was that he was determined. He was strong and stubborn, sometimes for the worst. He believed that he was bad, even if she didn't. He was so focused on proving to everyone that he was exactly who they thought he was that it was blinding him.
