Jordyn stared back at her with wide, terrified eyes. Panic was pulsing through him, freezing him in place.

"Jordyn?" She whispered, trying to sit herself up, but the pain that stabbed through her shoulder sent her back down to the ground.

"Y-yeah?" His voice was quiet and cracked midway.

"You need to get me to the drop ship." He stood up, moving to her shoulders. His hands slipped beneath her, pushing her up. As she moved, the pain that stabbed her shoulder turned into the worst feeling of tearing she had felt in her life. It was like Jordyn had reached into the wound with his bare hands and scratched the edges of her flesh with his fingernails.

She screamed.

"Shit." He whispered, carefully dropping her back to the ground.

"I need to," she sucked in a deep breath as dark spots swam across her vision, "get to the ship drop."

"The drop ship?" She hummed in response, her body feeling like it had been covered in already set cement. "I can't lift you, Sophia. I'm gonna have to go and get someone."

"Okay, you go. I'll stay here."

Vaguely, she heard his gravely footsteps carry him quickly away. Then, silence pressed down upon her. It was the same kind of silence she had been chained to in her cold, grey jail cell. It was filled with a kind of certainty that was innocent until proven guilty. It was ultimate, reeking of the finality of her death while just an inkling of hope hung on, breaking through the foul smell with a tinge of sweetness. Because while she had been imprisoned on the Ark, waiting for her death, there had still been the slightest chance that she would live.

Even if it had been tinier than a grain of rice.

Sophia let herself relax on the gravel covered ground, sighing as she looked up at the light blue sky. It's pristine colour was broken only by the odd cluster of fluffy white clouds, their forms clustering near the edges to make it seem as though it was acting as a frame. The tops of tall trees leaned into the picture, mimicking the arms of shy humans who didn't want their faces in the photo but still wanted to be in it.

She let her eyes fall closed, thinking that just a few moments of rest wouldn't be a bad thing.

Jordyn sprinted through the camp, bumping people out of his way as he moved through the crowds. Many of them turned to curse at him, others shouted harsh words about his inability to run in a straight line. But he didn't care. Jordyn had a job to do, and he needed to do it quickly.

Sophia was dying. She had said so herself. If he didn't get to Clarke quickly, he feared she wouldn't be alive for much longer.

He sprinted up the drop ship's ramp, his feet pounding loudly on its sturdy metal body. All of the kids turned to look at him as he exploded through the curtained door, his eyes alive with panic.

"Where's Clarke?" He blurted, looking from face to face in desperation.

"Up there with the others." One kid said, pointing at the hatch to the next level.

"Thanks," he mumbled, sprinting to the ladder and climbing as if his feet were on fire. He threw the hatch open and pushed himself up to the next level, puffing loudly from the exertion.

"What the hell?" Bellamy shouted as he moved closer to Jordyn. "Who are you?"

"I need your help." Jordyn blurted, not bothering to answer Bellamy's question. He looked over to see Clarke looking at him with wide eyes. "Sophia's infection - it's in her blood." He blurted. Clarke guffawed at the boy before she stood and stepped closer to him.
