it was the next day.
everything was normal again.
taehyung had his pancakes with maple syrup, jeongguk had his fruit salad.
but instead of sitting in silence, taehyung started a conversation with the boy.
jeongguk was zoning out. he was staring at his wrist and the way the bone popped out so visibly.
"hey," taehyung said, tapping the boy on the shoulder. "I've seen you around on campus."
the boy looked up and faced the other male. "y-yeah," he stuttered. "you stopped me from falling that one time...thanks."
taehyung smiled widely, his body now turned fully towards jeongguk. "has anyone told you that you're really pretty?"
a blush crept across jeongguk's face as he now was looking up at taehyung.
"u-um, i-i, thank you! you're attractive too, like, super attractive..."
jeongguk waited for taehyung's cocky response but in never came. instead, taehyung just slid him his number.
"call me."
//
jeongguk never called.
he actually never returned to the cafe.
the boy stared up at his ceiling. he had cried to the point where there were no more tears to cry.
his phone was on silent, not that he ever got any messages and calls. his body ached and his mind screamed.
thestreakthestreakthestreak
he broke about ten streaks in one day.
jeongguk knew they didn't matter, but they kept him in line. they gave him routine and control.
but now he was out of control.
and he was missing taehyung.
