every day, jeongguk goes to the same cafe to study for his upcoming exams and every day, the same person sits next to him and orders the same thing, pancakes.
he let out quiet sobs, not wanting to make too much noise considering the walls in his apartment were paper thin. jeongguk gnawed on his bottom lip, begging for the thoughts to stop.
the walls were closing in on him. the brown haired boy's room was a small studio apartment that just fit his single bed and desk in. never had he felt cramped in this room until now.
taehyung's dark brown eyes stared back at him. his voice was as sweet as honey. jeongguk could listen to it all day but now he ruined his chance.
he should've never talked to the pancake boy and now he was never going to come back to that cafe, to that seat. he ruined everything.
jeongguk was never going to go near pancakes again.

taehyung packed up his belongings not too long after jeongguk had left. the blonde haired boy swung his backpack over his left shoulder while his right hand held his large art portfolio.
the boy walked out of the warm cafe and into the slightly cooler streets. taehyung walked quickly back home with a spring in his step. he had about two more days to finish his art project.
he thought back to earlier this morning. that boy...taehyung had seen him often staring at his wrists or his thighs instead of working on his assignments. he pursed his lips together in a straight line. that boy was weird.
unlike jeongguk, taehyung lived in a slightly larger apartment in the better areas of seoul. the blonde haired boy's dad worked overseas in amercia as a manager of a record label for many famous artists.
so there taehyung now sat, at his desk surrounded by references and art materials but he found himself reaching for a new piece of paper, neglecting the portrait of the little girl he had drawn.
he was going to draw that weird boy.

jeongguk couldn't think straight.
the world around him spun. the kitchen cabinets flung open and food was thrown everywhere. the glass windows trembled and the whole roof seemed to fall on him.
it was his monster.
eyes shut and hands clenched into a fist, jeongguk sat on his grey covered bed. static and ringing filled his ears as he heard the monster.
taehyung. the way his name fell from jungkook's tongue seemed to send shivers down his spine. his monster seemed unsure of taehyung, which was uncommon considering his monster liked to jump to conclusions.
maybe it was the pancakes he ate every day, after all, pancakes have been with jeongguk whenever something big was going to happen. graduations, birthdays, his father's death, taehyung...
