The world is a weird place. The students of Wellshire all initially thought they were weird. They did weird things. Weird things happened when they were around.
But in reality they were special.
Like that one time a house caught on fire in a small town near London. The parents died of the fumes and the two year old son couldn't be rescued in time, all rooms were burnt beyond recognition, all besides one room. Turns out there was an adopted boy in that house and the room that he slept in was completely unharmed.
That boy had a talent. His talent was fire. He could both conjure fire, manipulate it and be protected from it. oh that time was a mess. The news of the surviving boy spread like wildfire all over the news. Wellshire sweeped him away from the orphanage that he was taken to after the incident within the next week and removed any trace of his existence at all.
People who have a specific talent can do other kinds of magic. But only after intense training and years of learning can a magician fully master more than one talent but it comes with a cost. Practicing a talent that you haven't been blessed with consumes your energy. It's almost like that particular form of magic lives within them.
Wellshire is always on the lookout for these kind of people. Any unexplainable events, a mishap or murder. Very rarely would you find a magician from a place with a miracle. Those magicians were healers. They could heals wounds, physical mostly, even rarer were the ones who could heal a broken heart or a broken mind.
