[A/N: in case I never said this, but Lottie is 2 years older than Louis, making her 12]

Louis couldn't comprehend what was going on, but he felt something tugging on his hair as he was being dragged out of his room and into the hall. He had been awoken by the pain of the hair pull and he opened his eyes as a loud whimper escaped his lips.

"I didn't do anything! It was probably Lottie!" Louis yelped as he was sat down on the couch. He looked up, his father glaring down at him. He placed his hand on the strands of hair his father was tugging at and winced at the pain. What did he do this time?

"Why the hell is a teacher calling us? Have you been going to a dumb ass school while me and your mother are out?"

Louis' breath hitched when he heard the word 'teacher.' The man from yesterday, Mr. Styles must've somehow got the Tomlinson residence's number. No wonder why he asked for his parents names! It was to contact them about signing Louis up for school. He should've never told him; he didn't think anything of it.

The boy wrapped his arms around himself, shrugging and murmuring, "don't know, sir."

But Steve knew he was lying. He always knows when Louis lies. He slapped the boy across the cheek as a small punishment. "Well clearly Mr. Harry Styles knows! Why the hell are you even talking to strangers, you stupid child. Don't you know common sense?"

Louis wanted to shake his head and say no, since his parents don't teach him anything but he knew that would only make matters worse. He knew talking to strangers was bad, everyone knows. But Mr. Styles seemed like a man he could trust. His warm eyes and soft smile made Louis think he could be trusted. He was a teacher and he was only trying to help.

"You're a lucky little shit. Since you're so incredibly stupid, I took that idiot's advice and enrolled you. You start tomorrow."

And even though Steve was being such a twat, Louis' face lit up with pure joy as a grin formed on his lips. He was finally going to school and he was so happy and excited. No scratch that, he was elated, an emotion Louis has never experienced before.

"Wait really!? I finally get to go!?" Louis quickly jumped up, his father glaring at him with an irritated look.

"Duh. Didn't I just say that?" He rolled his eyes and walked away into the kitchen, leaving Louis to jump up and down in excitement.

"So you're finally going to school?" Lottie asked, standing in the doorway of Louis' bedroom as he packed everything in his new backpack. His mother reluctantly took him out with her yesterday, since she was already going to run errands. She supposed she should've took him to get some supplies, even though the school supplies most items needed.

"Yeah." Louis smiled to himself, dumping in the packs of pencils. He was super excited to finally learn and hopefully, he'll be in Mr. Styles' class.

"What if they think you're a freak? I do." Lottie sneered, causing Louis to roll his eyes. Nothing could ruin the good mood he was in. He found out he finally gets to go to school, slept well, better than he has in ages, and he's excited to finally learn something. He hasn't felt this way in what seems like forever and he didn't want to ruin it. He wanted to hold onto it for as long as he could.

"Maybe being a freak is a good thing." Louis put the backpack on and walked past his sister, who huffed in annoyance and walked across the hall to her room.

His father ended up driving him and although Louis wished it was her mother (who was less grumpy in the mornings), he didn't complain because he didn't want to get punished and hurt right before school.
