Harry was exhausted from all the running around lately. He feels like he hasn't slept in ages and he's rarely seen Liam; he's honestly just starting to give up because it seems like to him that Louis isn't even in London anymore. He could be anywhere.
But he promised Louis he'd find him. Louis needs him and he'll be crushed if he's adopted by someone else, or another family. But what if that's already happened? What if someone walked into the building Louis was staying at and happened to take a liking to him? Someone could've already adopted him and taken him away to who knows where.
So where does he go now? He's googled all the foster homes here in London, but has had no luck. It seems like it's been a week but it's only Sunday now. He has one more week of break so he needs to find him as soon as possible.
He was walking through downtown London while googling all the foster homes again, going through and mentally checking off the ones he's been to already. After checking everything, he realized that he accidentally missed one. It was an apartment on Little Britain Ave, which was a couple blocks from where he was currently walking. So he sprinted.
Sure he ran into a few people, earning glares and "watch it, bastard!" but he didn't care. His Louis was waiting for him and he will do whatever he could to get to him, even if it mean't hearing cuss words thrown at him (which he didn't even care about).
When finally reaching the apartment, he quickly rung the doorbell, trying to catch his breath because having asthma and running in cold air don't really go together. When a lady opened the door, he quickly stood up tall since he had his hand on the wall, leaning against it. "May I help you?" She asked.
Harry nodded quickly, taking a deep breath before speaking breathlessly, "Is Louis Tomlinson staying here?"
The lady furrowed her eyebrows but gave a nod in response; Harry was mentally thanking the gods because he finally found Louis.
"Am I allowed to see him?" He looked past her shoulder, trying to see if Louis was anywhere in there but only saw a few kids, probably the other foster children that were living there.
"Well," the lady crossed her arms. "Are you here to adopt?"
He hasn't talked it over with Liam since they haven't had time to talk to each other, but Harry nodded his head anyways. He really wants Louis to be with him, safe at all times in a warm, non-violent home. He's grown to care deeply for the boy, and even love him as the son he's never had.
So the lady told him to step inside and take his shoes off, then went up a small flight of stairs till they were in view of the living room to their right, the kitchen across from them, and a hall to the left.
He then followed her down that hall until they stopped in front of a door. "He never comes out. Only for the bathroom, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be really careful with him, please? He's really fragile."
Harry already knew that but he didn't want to piss the lady off. He slowly opened the door to see a semi-dark room; all the blinds were closed except for the one Louis was looking out, the one beside his bed.
"Lou?"
He saw Louis' head perk up, as though he were a cat who heard birds chirping outside. He turned his head and immediately jumped off the bed and ran into his teacher's arms, hugging him as tight as he could.
Harry picked him up by the waist and hugged him as close as possible while placing soft kisses all around his face. He was beaming when finally being able to hold the boy he's missed for so long, and hearing him giggle made his heart flutter just like it did the first time he heard it.
"I knew you'd come save me. I never ever gave up on you." Louis spoke before smooching Harry's cheek. Harry chuckled as a light blush coated his cheeks, then nuzzles the small boy's nose with his. He missed Louis' loud, happy voice. It was always so quiet without him and Louis' shouts of joy, loud giggles, and sunshine smile never failed to make Harry beam with happiness.
"Good. I know it took me awhile but I got here, and you'll be safe now." And he was right. Right as Louis ran into those comforting arms, he felt immediately safe, he felt like he belonged there, in Harry's arms.
"C'mon, Lou. I'm going to adopt you."

[A/N: Ok I don't know how the fuck adoption works so sorry if it's not realistic. I mean it was pretty basic in Matilda, her parents just signed a few papers and bam done so that's pretty much what Harry's gonna do lol]
Sign here, sign there, sign here, sign everywhere. A couple paper signings later and Louis officially belonged to Harry. They both shared a moment of tears filled with happiness as they hugged each other again. Louis had never been so happy before in his life, and he was glad that Harry made him feel this way.
Ugh another shitty update I'm really sorry. I've been so exhausted lately and I even fell asleep in the middle of writing this. But I promise that the last few chapters will be better and awesome.
Again, sorry for the horrible chapter ;-;
