"Oh god, I'm so nervous." Skylar whispered, hesitating outside Virgil's house.

"Come on, you'll be fine." Virgil smiled and took Skylar's hand.

Virgil opened the door and pulled Skylar inside, "Dad! We're home!"

"So this is the boyfriend, huh?" Thomas said, walking out of the kitchen.

"Yes sir!" Skylar held out his hand.

"Well it's nice to meet you!" Thomas shook his hand with a smile, "do you have any allergies?"

"No sir." Skylar shook his head.

"Just call me Thomas." He chuckled.

Skylar nodded quickly.

"Virge!" Patton yelled, running down the stairs and jumping on his brother.

"Hey Patt." Virgil ruffled the ten year olds hair.

"Is Sky staying for dinner?" Patton asked.

"Yep." Virgil nodded.

"Oh!" Roman gasped as he walked downstairs, "Ree! Virgils boyfriend is here!"

"WHAT!"

Remus bolted downstairs and staired at Skylar.

"Um..?" Skylar laughed nervously.

"Okay, hes fine." Remus smiled.

"Oh... okay?" Skylar looked to Virgil for help.

"Just ignore them, they're idiots." Virgil rolled his eyes.

"Hey!" Roman yelled.

"Calm down you two." Logan said, placing a hand on the twins shoulders.

"Hey Lo." Virgil smiled, "this is my boyfriend Skylar."

Logan gave him a small smile, "its nice to meet you. Virgil talkes a out you a lo-"

"No I don't!" Virgil chuckled nervously.

Logan laughed, "sure."

"Virge!" Dee squirmed his way under his brothers legs.

"Hey Dee." Virgil smiled, picking him up.

"Whis that?" Dee asked, pointing to Skylar.

"I'm Skylar, Virgil's boyfriend." He smiled.

Dee squinted at Skylar before nodding, "okay!"

"Well," Virgil set Dee down and grabbed Skylar's hand, "we're gonna go to my room now."

"You gonna fuck!?" Remus shouted after them.

"Remus!"

Virgil closed his door with a sigh, "finally. So, that was my family."

"They seem fun." Skylar chuckled.

"They're mainly protective." Virgil said.

"Why?" Skylar asked.

Virgil went quiet.

"Vee?"

"Its nothing." Virgil sighed, curling up on his bed.

"Vee..." Skylar pulled him into a hug.

"I'm fine." Virgil said.

"Fine is a bullshit word." Skylar said.

Virgil sighed, "my brothers and I have been through a lot. Our birth parents died in a fire that was started by a Christian cult leader and then we were kidnapped by that cult leader."

"What?" Skylar blinked, "that's awful."

"Its fine." Virgil said, "I'm okay."

"Are you sure?" Skylar asked.

"Yeah." Virgil nodded.

"Hey lovebirds!" Roman called, "dinners ready!"

"Okay! We'll be down soon!" Virgil yelled back, "ready?"

Skylar smiled, "yeah."
