"What's up Vee? You look tired." Skylar said as he saw his boyfriend the next morning.

"I'm okay." Virgil smiled.

Skylar smiled, "okay. Let's get to class."

Virgil didn't move, "have you had breakfast?"

Skylar chuckled, "gotta get to class!"

"Sky." Virgil gave him a look.

Skylar sighed, "no."

"Come on, were getting you food." Virgil said, dragging Skylar to the cafe.

"Sky, how many times have you done this?" Virgil asked, holding his boyfriends arms.

"Its been going on for years." Skylar said, "I'm fine."

"Sky, you need to stop." Virgil told him.

"I can stop whenever I want!" Skylar shouted.

"Then prove it." Virgil said, "get rid of your blades."

"No!"

"Vee, you need to breathe." Skylar said, hugging his panicking boyfriend closer, "in for four, hold for seven, out for eight."

Virgil nodded, following Skylar's instructions.

"Thanks Sky." Virgil said after a few minutes.

"No problem Vee." Skylar smiled.

"Sky, I dont think we can be together anymore." Virgil sniffed.

"What? Why!?" Skylar asked.

"I'm just not in a good mental state to be in a relationship right now." Virgil told him.

"Please! Dont leave!" Skylar begged.

"I'm sorry Sky-"

"No! Please! You cant leave me!" Skylar sobbed, "I dont know if I can live without you!"

"Yes you can." Virgil smiled softly, "I know you can."

"You were the only thing keeping me sane!" Skylar yelled, "please!"

"We can still be friends?" Virgil said.

"Hey Skylar." Virgil smiled as he sat next to his friend.

"Hey Virge! What's up?" Skylar asked.

"Bella is annoying as always." Virgil rolled his eyes.

"Ugh why wont she leave us alone!" Skylar yelled.

"I dont get why hes ignoring me." Virgil told Percy, "he said his parents turned off the wifi and that hes too anxious to talk."

"He wont talk to me either." Percy sighed, "I've just about given up."

Virgil sighed and flopped back on the park bench, "I just wish he'd talk to me."

"Did you block me on Insta?" Skylar walked up to Virgil at the park.

"Yes." Virgil said.

"Why!?" Skylar asked.

"I thought I was bothering you so I blocked you so I couldn't bother you anymore." Virgil explained.

"The reason I wasn't talking to you was because my boyfriend was in the hospital!" Skylar yelled.

Virgil was taken back. Last he heard, Skylar had a girlfriend.

"You never checked up on me!" Skylar shouted, "but yeah, I'm the one ignoring you."

"I've been the one trying to start conversations ever since we broke up." Virgil said, "I just stopped trying cause it was affecting my mental health."

"Your mental health!? You only talked about your problems! You never checked up on me and I've been so stressed out!" Skylar cried.

Virgil scoffed, "you've become so toxic."

"Oh, I've become toxic!?" Skylar yelled, "you're the one who blocked me when my life was going to shit! But yeah, I'm the toxic one."

Virgil took a breath, "goodbye Skybeam."

Virgil stared at the text conversations. Maybe he had been the toxic one. It was true that he came to Skylar when he needed help, but isn't that what friends do? And he didn't really ask how Skylar was doing.

Virgil sighed, curling up, "I am the toxic one..."

But then again, Skylar never talked a out his life and only responded with one or two words, even when he asked. Hell, he didn't tell Virgil about his boyfriend, or the girlfriend after that, or the boyfriend after her. Virgil thought that's what friends did, right?

Virgil groaned, he didn't know what to think anymore. Maybe he should just go to bed.
