A few weeks after Virgil got home from the hospital, he got a textv message from someone.

Brian- Hey baby, Sky fell asleep finally, so we have like, 2 hours before they wake up, we can do whatever we want on here😏😏😘❤🥰

Virgil's eyes widened. It was Skylar's boyfriend. He took a screenshot and sent it to Skylar.

Skylar- this is a prank right?

Virgil- no, I'm so sorry

Skylar- no seriously how did you photoshop that?

Virgil- I didn't

Virgil took a deep breath and went back to Brian.

Virgil- this is a prank right

Brian- no

Virgil- you're a horrible person

Brian- that's me

This went on for a while. Convincing Skylar that it was real and having Brian constantly texting him.

Virgil- dont you have anything better to do than bother me?

Brian- Nope

Brian- And the fact that you’re still here shows that you don’t either

Virgil- well I've been trying to make food

Brian- You could easily ghost me like you did to Sky all those times

Brian- There you go

Brian- I guess you’ve gotten good at this from past experiences?

Brian- Happy now Virgil?

Virgil ignored him and texted Skylar.

Virgil- if you need anything I'll be here

Skylar- ok thanks

Virgil- stay safe

Skylar- no promises

That's what broke Virgil. Skylar had always said that when they were on good terms.

Virgil fell to the ground, sobbing. He didn't know why he was crying. It was just all too much.

Then he got another text.

Brian- lmao I cant believe he fell for it

Brian- oh shit

Virgil froze. It was a prank? It was all a fucking prank!? Virgil let out another sob.

"Hey Virge! I'm here-!" Percy opened the front door, "oh shit what happened?"

Virgil showed him the texts, spitting out, "it was a fucking prank."

Percy pulled him into a hug, "it'll be okay Virge."

"Why does he keep doing this?" Virgil whimpered.

"I dont know." Percy whispered back.

"W-wait." Virgil sniffed, looking up at Percy, "how did you get in? No one else is home."

"Oh, your dad gave me a spare key." Percy explained, holding up the key.

"Jesus christ Dad." Virgil muttered.

Percy chuckled, "well, do you wanna go get some ice cream? Go for a walk in the park? Just get your mind off them?"

Virgil nodded, "sure."

Percy smiled and stood up, holding out his hand, "come on then."

Virgil smiled and took his hand, letting Percy pull him to his feet. Maybe it would be okay.
