CH. 66 About your daughter
                              (Natasha POV)
I stared at the Captain, who looked stunned at everything that happened.
I did throw him under the bus, but I didn't let the bus run him over, so that was good.
I know he wasn't a bad person, but the fact that he had found out what Jeff was doing to me, the fact that he had confronted Jeff that night but didn't take Jeff, offer about if were to ignore what Jeff was doing to me and then he'll know the whereabouts of his grandkid.
The fact that the Captain didn't accept the offer but left proves that he didn't want to be part of Jeff's games, but why not say he'll take me away, why didn't he fight to take me away just like his daughter had done?
These were questions I had and was curious about when it comes to what happened that night.
I had told him his daughter was in hiding before, which was true. I didn't tell him that we found him.
"We found your daughter," I said to the captain.
                              "Where is she?" He asked.
                              I tilted my head.
"She's here; she's going to confess to what she did. Unless you feel like she shouldn't?" I asked him.
"No, she should. I just want to see her." He said in a soft voice.
"Your grandkid is fine," I said, the door opened, and one of the officers came in with the captain's other daughter.
"Dad." She said, going to her dad and hugging him.
"I'm so sorry, Dad, I am so sorry." She said.
"I'm going to confess Dad; she doesn't deserve any of the things that happened to her. Jeff was an evil person Dad, and I don't regret what I did, but I'm not letting her get charged for something she didn't do. She's been tortured enough." She said to the captain.
                              "She has." He said.
"There's a chance she won't be sentenced for killing him; someone had offered Anastasia Knight to represent her," I said.
                              The captain's eyes widened.
                              "Why?" The Captain asked?
"Why? Because I'm not a bad person." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
Damian was able to track her down and found her; apparently, she was planning on turning herself in but needed a place to keep her child safe.
A child that she somehow was able to abduct back from the people who had the child, under Jeffs's orders.
"I'm sorry." The captain said, looking at me.
"Your sorry?" I said, questioning it.
"Yes, I was trying to figure out a way to get you out. He had offered me to keep hush about you and in return to getting my grandchild. I didn't accept and would never have." He said.
"Why not threaten to take me away as your daughter did?" I asked him.
"I don't know that house, Jeff does, and you do. I'm sure you know many rooms in that house that weren't seen by us or have been identified by anyone from the outside. Jeff is capable of many things; I was in his territory. I came alone, I had no power, and I wasn't familiar with my surroundings. Jeff would have won, and I saw that from his eyes." The captain said.
"Should I have still attempted to try? Yes, but I knew I wouldn't succeed, which was why I left. I knew, though, if I left. Jeff would figure out a way to have me killed because I didn't accept his offer and he had no control over me. After all, I was someone who hated him and wanted nothing to do with him." The Captain said.
"I'm not a fugitive anymore. The news said I was innocent, and you all now have a new prime suspect." I said.
The Captain slowly nodded his head.
"Natasha. You're free to go, all charges against you are drop." The Captain said.
The room fell silent; the truth was I could have left when the news regarding everything that happened was released, but I stayed.
I didn't have to hear him say, but I wanted to listen to him say it.
                              "Natasha?" Damian said.
"I'll be going now," I said, standing up from the chair I was sitting on.
I walked out of the conference room, headed further down the hallway, and knew stares were on me.
Now they knew the truth. I'm sure they were watching the news and knew what partial what Jeff did to me.
I reached the other side of the floor, and just found myself leaning on the wall.
"Natasha." I heard my voice and looked up to find Damian staring at me.
I let out a humorless laugh.
"I don't even know where to go," I said.
"I don't know where to go; I have no place to go," I said.
I didn't even know I was crying until I was being pulled into Damian's arms.
"I'm crying? Damian, am I crying? When was the last time I've cried?" I asked, not even knowing if we both knew the answer to that.
"Let it all out Natasha, just let it all out." He said, and I did, I stood there and cried, I don't know for how long.
I caught a glance at Tucker, who was leaning against the other side of the wall, I guess he came after me as well, and he was just staring at Damian and me.
                              My tears wouldn't stop.
I knew it wasn't over; there was still going to be a trial regarding Jeffs's death. There were always going to be people whose names were going to be released regarding the situations they were in with Jeff, but I was finally free, I wasn't held back by anything.
I was no longer a kept woman; I was no longer a fugitive.
I had stopped crying and wiped my tears away, pulling back softly from Damian.
                              He smiled at me.
"There are no words that can say that will erase all those things that have happened to you, but I can tell you that your future won't have any pain as your past did." He said, smiling softly at me.
His stare lowered to my belly, and he chuckled.
"Now, what do you say we go to the Doctors, and find out what gender that baby is." He said, actually making me let out a laugh.
