CH.17 She's got something Planned

(Damian POV)

I know when someone is planning something and this woman right here, was planning something. Something big. her mind was working in mysterious ways and I actually wanted in on it.

I wanted to get a look into her mind and come across the thoughts she was thinking of and if I am being honest I don't think I would care if I got lost in that mind of hers and it wouldn't bother me at all which would actually lead me to avoid the exit.

I was taking her to my safe zone, a place I have never taken anyone and a place that no one knows about.

Why do I feel like I could trust her to take her there?

I had no idea, but I had a huge feeling that she could help me just as I can help her.

She tries to give out that Vibe like she wants to be alone, but I keep thinking maybe she doesn't want to be alone. She just seems tired, tired of the injustice that was served, tired of everything that has happened and is happening to her. She obviously has suffered many heartbreaks, from this lifetime and the past lifetime and she's obviously is trying not to get any more heartbreaks.

I continued staring at the road, not even taking a glance at her. I didn't want her to think that I was giving her something to worry about. I wanted her to think that I was okay with her quietness. Besides, it was helping me think things through.

I needed to reach Kevin, by doing that I would have to find his brother Dean Franco.

I use to be the type of person who acted like I didn't care, who gave out the vibe that no matter what hit me, it didn't phase me.... but it was just an act. just my poker face because it did affect me. No one's eyes noticed what was going on with me because different eyes see different things. People choose what they want to see.

The world changed me.

I pulled in front of the gated community I lived in, I used a different name for the home. build a business with a different name and was making millions but yet I still worked as an average man in a coffee shop that I actually owned.

Best way to live this life right now, but I was once in prison. for a crime, I actually didn't commit and I was helped out of that awful place by a person who I owed a world too but I couldn't find him.

People who don't want to be found keep it that way, I know that's what he was doing but I didn't care. I wanted to find him because I knew he was in danger and I wanted to protect him like he protected me.

"Looks like you're deep into thoughts." She spoke next to me and I entered the neighborhood as soon as the gates opened giving me entrance.

"I was," I said to her not really wanting to get into details about what I was thinking about and really hoping she didn't ask about it either.

For some reason I knew she wouldn't, she seems like someone who respects someone private thoughts and when someone was ready to talk to her they would and I respected that. I needed that.

I pulled up in front of my home, a home doesn't have to be just a house. It could be a place you find comfort in, a place you can be yourself, feel relax and be truly at ease. This is exactly what I get from this place, this is why it's my home.

"You have a lovely home." She said and I heard honesty in her voice.

I gave her a smirk.

"Thanks," I said laughing and getting out the car

She followed right behind me and we both pulled up in front of the door.

I entered my passcode fast into the passcode box and opened the door.

sucking a breath of the smell of my home never felt so right.

We both walked in and I closed the door right behind her.

"Time to get busy," I said leading her into my office with all my tech stuff.

"You tech Nerds take things like this very seriously, I see," She said and I didn't know what she meant by that but I shrugged and laughed it off.

"Feel free to work your magic," I said to her sitting on one of the chairs.

She eyes my office and walks in, staring at my equipment.

I stared at her as her eyes move from one item to another, curious about what was running through her mind.

she pulled out my office chair and sat down.

"Okay, I can work with this." She said and I held back a smirk.

"Oh, can you?" I asked and for some reason, it looks like she was trying to hold back an eye-roll.

"Yes, so tell me about this person that you're trying to get in contact with? why are you trying to get in contact with this person?" She asked me and I sat on my desk in front of her, not really wanting to tell her.

But she obviously had to know and was going to find out anyways.

"I was in prison, I was set up and a person who was also set up was in prison with me, we became friends....... That person is in danger, his child who he knows nothing about is in danger and I need to get in contact with his brother. I tried but his skills are above mine." I said staring at her.

She nodded her head but said nothing.

"You're not going to say anything?" I asked her and she raised a brow.

"What am I suppose to say? I mean you're part of the people I want to help out the most? The people who are put into the prison system for a crime they didn't actually do. I was apart of that process, I was almost sent to prison. So yeah I'm going to help you and you're going to help me." She said, moving the chair closer to the computer screen and beginning to do what she supposedly knows how to do better than me.

"I see you already started but didn't know what else to do, I'll figure it out." She said and I nodded my head.

"Can I get you anything?" I asked her only to have her head turned to face me with a weird look on her face which was cut off shortly by the growling of her stomach letting her know that it was on the verge of hunger and reminding her that she hadn't eaten, that she needed to.

Her eyes widen, I noticed for a split second her complexion darken, as if she was blushing.

"Sorry, with the whole being the fugitive thing I forgot to eat..." She said and I nodded my head, not knowing what else to say. I gave her a smile.

"I'll go make us something to eat," I said and she gave me a soft smile.

I walked away from her and walking out of the room.

I had to be extremely careful here, I had to watch the things I said, the things I feel and how I was behaving.

After all, I had other things to keep my mind on. You can't fall for a woman who doesn't want anyone falling for her in the first place.

(*Kassandra Speaks*)

It looks like Natasha (Kurohime, Nana) is on the roll with helping Damian, What do you Dolls think Damian meant when he said what he said?
