Wendy emerges from the forest and sees the mermaids all in their places on their given rocks.
Let the games begin.
"Excuse me," Wendy says innocently. Come on Penny, I muster with my mind. "Pardon me." Wendy says again. "Oh, yes? Sorry, I didn't see you. Sorry," Penny says. "You look a bit lost. Do you need help?" says Penny restating her lines perfectly. Yes!, I think. "Well, yes, I guess I am. Would you-" Wendy begins but stops. "Mmmhmm," says Penny rolling onto her belly and leans on her elbows, practically jumping out of her scales to say her next line. "Could you, yes that's it, help me find a boy. About a head taller than I. With a gr--". "With a green cap and outfit to match. Yes, yes, I know exactly who you speak of." Penny says cutting her off. "Do y--" Wendy starts. "Oh, and yes I do know where he could be if that helps." Penny says twirling the ends of her red-orange hair. "Where might that b-" . "Oh MY GOODNESS! Look at your dress! It is absolutely disgusting! Look at it! It has dirt stains. Marie look at those stains. They'll never come out, if we don't get them out now. Right?" Gertrude interrupts. "Yes, absolutely. We'll just have to wash it." Marie starts. 'What are they doing!! That's not in the scripts!' I think frantically flipping through my leaf and quill notes. I look up at the sun's shadow on the rocks. Oh, we've still got time. They're improvising! Yes! ,I think. Oh, I love them. "Oh, but I don't have spare clothes." Wendy says. "Well that's quite alright." Marie says. Glancing at the sun against the rocks Marina realizes they haven't got much time left so she intrudes, "Gasp, what is-? Is that the spots?!" Marina whispers loudly. "Where?!" Wendy asks quite nervously. "Right there," Marina points to the middle of Wendy's chest. She looks and zooop. The classic made you look trick. I'm giggling so hard waiting for the next step. "Ouch! There's nothing there. You're just try--" Wendy yelps. "Trying to help you, now shut up so we may continue.," Marina says hurriedly, while I'm holding my sides practiacally bursting at Marina's retort. "We must get that off right away before it spreads." says Marina tugging at her skirts when all the others join in. "Hey,--" but before Wendy can finish she's pulled into the Lagoon. When they resurface her they only give her time to take a breath and say, " Please!" before Marina says,"Oh, it seems we've missed a spot." when they thrust her back in. I burst out laughing tears streaming out the corners of my eyes when Peter swoops in. "Girls, girls!," he saves her to a near by rock. Ugggghghhhhh. Why does this happen? I practically set myself up to fail. "That's no way you treat a visiter do we?" he says hands on hips in the air. "No, but-" Marina starts. "No buts. Hehe. I said butts. Any way." Peter giggles before shaking the distration away. "But, Peter what you do not know is that Wendy, here, has this terrible illness called...." Marina falters " Called what?" Peter asks unable to attain his eagerness to know the answer. "The Cooties." Marina whispers. With that I let a small sliver of laughter escape. "What was that?" Peter asks alarmed spade at the ready. "Oh, I just have the hiccups. He-ugh! You. He-ugh, know." Marie covers up. And that's when Wendy sees me. All the look on her face says is: Let the games begin. "But Peter!" she calls innocently. "But nothing Wendy. Let's go." Peter says scooping her up and away while giving the mermaids the eye. When he turns around Wendy waves evily back at us. I mean what does he see in her? Can he not see past her innocent face and see her devil horns?!
