My father's crew lifts my cold box and carries me away as I wait for Tink, Peter, and the Boys to rise from the ashes. I keep watching the pile of rubble of what was once a great childhood love, I watch it certain that they will rise until I can no longer see through the thick branches and leaves of the forest.
I sigh as I'm set down onto the wooden planks of my childhood. I breathe a breath of relief when I see the Lost Boys tied up against the Main Mast. I'm quickly pulled out of my trance by the now achingly familiar thick accented voice, "Does the animal like her cage?" Wendy says peering between the bars. 'That's what this contraption is called?' I think to myself. "I am not an animal, I am the capt-" I begin. "Captains Daughter, yea, yea, yea. Well it looks like daddy doesn't need you anymore." Wendy faux pouts her pink lips in what happens to be my pirate suit! I feel my temperature begin to rise. "Your sick." I spit on her shoes. "My boots!" she screeches. "My boots." I say. "I'm the daughter he always wanted." she recovers. "More like the son he always wanted." I say. "It's on!" she says drawing her sword, the weight of it brings her down a little. I smirk at her weakness. She hefts herself up and charges at the space between the bars. I back up on impulse but, little does she know the tip of her sword is dull. That's the dad I know, I hide the smile pulling at the corners of my lips. I grab onto the metal loops of the cage one handedly and swing my momentum straight into her flat chest, with a thump she falls to the deck. Without any notice I fly out of the cage, the door falling with a clatter onto the wood. Sitting up enraged, "You didn't lock and bolt the door as I told you to do, Smee?!" she flames. Smee stutters, "I-I'm sorry Wend-" she raises her hand to slap him. " I-I'm mean, C-Cap'em." he shields himself. It suddenly hits me full on like the blast of a cannon: Dad's not running the ship, she is. Wendy's controlling him. She's the puppet master of it all.
Outraged, I slam on top of her straddling her and start slamming my fist into her frail, porcelain body. I hear a jingling of keys or something in the background of Wendy's shouts and cries to stop me. Slightly distracted by the Boys' shouts she manages to get me off of her. I'm flung onto my back when she stands over me blood dripping out of her nose and mouth. Wendy wipes her mouth and nose before evilly smiling her pearly whites now a tinted crimson red. Still in a mixed state of shock and pain I'm stiff and my limbs are stuck at my sides from when I was flung onto my back. My eyes widen as she slams her sword into me.
Before my eyes close I hear the familiar voice call, "Veronica!"
