That Saturday came fast. Amulya was very happy about how her final went. She had worked so many years for this, and now finally her dream was coming true. In two days she can start working. Sure it’s just medical training until she is certified to become a doctor, but she still did it.
The doorbell rang, causing Amulya jump. No one ever comes over to her place, so it was weird for her to hear the doorbell.
“Hey Shannon” she greeted the blonde that walked in through the door, even before Amulya can tell her to come in.“You have a hot neighbour” was the first words out of Shannon’s mouth that evening.
“Yeah, I’ve seen him around a few times” Amulya replied, already starting to feel that familiar twist in her gut, whenever someone brings up boys.
“Seriously? And you didn’t think he was hot?”
“I do think he is good looking and I also think this conversation is over.”
“Oh come on, you are no fun.” Shannon grumbled, but let go of the topic.
“Let’s leave now, before we get late” Amulya glared at her friend, who was casually sitting on the couch.
“You are acting as if you want to drink” Shannon rolled her eyes “You never have any fun”
“I have work from Monday, Shannon. I cannot drink. But I promise I will dance with you, okay?” Amulya said.
“Yes. Okay. More than okay” Shannon jumped up from the couch and they made their way out.
“Maybe we should invite your neighbour with us today. He looks like he could use it” Amulya heard Shannon say, before there was a loud scream.
“Hey! Handsome stranger, I and my friend here are going out for some drinks. You look like you could use some. Join us?” Amulya gave out a perplexed smile at the honesty of her friend.
“Well, hello ladies” the guy dragged out, “Good evening. Thank you for the invitation, but I’m afraid I have to decline.” he paused, not knowing what to respond, on being asked out for drinks by a total stranger.
“I’m sorry about her” Amulya told the guy. “Have a pleasant evening” she said before dragging her pouting friend into the lift, before the doors closed, she saw the guy wave and disappear into his house.
“Are you out of your mind, Nonie that guy can be a killer and we would never know? Why would you invite him over to drink?”
“Relax. I doubt a serial killer would be living at a place like this. And it’s no harm making friends” Shannon rolled her eyes, before flagging down a taxi.
“Calm down now, and loosen up. Let’s have the time of our lives before you get all busy” Shannon screamed as they got into the taxi. Amulya laughed and agreed with her friend.
“But I’m not drinking” she said between the laughs.
Alaric was sitting in front of the television, watching a movie for a change. His mind has been blank for the past two days. He couldn’t even write another chapter.
He didn’t want to admit that was mostly because of the silence of a particular girl he has been talking to. She hasn’t texted him since they talked on Wednesday.
That’s when she told him about her final. He wondered how she wrote her exam.
He took his phone out to text her, just to see he already had a text from her.Hello
Seems like you replaced me already!!!!!!He smiled at the text and so many typos that were in them.
A few more messages appeared.I am having the time of my life
Hope you are here with me tonight
I miss you!!!There were a lot of exclamations and the texts were too sloppy. It wasn’t anything like Amy. He didn’t know her for long, but he definitely knew enough to tell that she was never the one to send sloppy texts. She would never use short cuts over the texts.
Amulya was too sleepy when they returned from the clubs. Like she wanted she didn’t drink. After a shower and changing into comfortable clothes, she went into her bedroom just to see Shannon sprawled out the bed doing something on the phone.
“So tell me, Amy” Shannon started, making Amulya frown at the nickname “How hot is Ricky Walt?”
“What?!” she exclaimed as she noticed that the phone in Shannon’s hand was her phone.
“Give me back my phone, Nonie” she screamed diving for the phone. It’s not like she had something to hide, but there is no telling with drunken Shannon, she has no control over what she does.
Neither does she have limits.
“Or what will you do?” the blonde laughed.
“I swear to god, Shannon” she warned as she tried to grab her phone again. The girls wrestled for a while.
“Which one are you talking about?” Shannon laughed again, when she rolled off the bed and fell on the floor and Amulya was successfully able to retrieve her phone.
As she feared Tinder was open and there were a few messages. Amulya’s face burned as she read the texts her friend had sent.
“Oh! My God Shannon, you are so dead” she said to her friend who was already passed out.
With shaking fingers, she decided to do some damage control.
???
Are you drunk?I’m so sorry
It wasn’t me that texted you
It was my friend
She doesn’t know limits when she is drunk.
I’m very sorryIts fine
I was worried for a second that you were drunk and out there alone
I mean London isn’t the safest place.I’m fine
I don’t drink
That and I start work on Monday. So I have no plans of getting shit faced. That reminds me
How did you write your exam?Great.
I’m so happy about the way it went
It’s all I ever dreamt about
Becoming a doctor, and now I reached it.
I’m so happyCongratulations
I’m so happy for youAlaric smiled, an idea already forming in his head for the next chapter. His hands were itching towards the laptop to write the next chapter.
How is your friend?
He asked her, after a moment of silence.
She is passed out.
Now I have to move her to bedHahaha
Have fun with that
Make sure her head is placed in a way she won’t choke if she pukesAh! The fun part
I hope she chokes
She literally knows no limits,
I mean you don’t just take your friends phone and text people
It is embarrassingAlaric smiled at her text. His mind drifted towards what happed earlier that evening. How that Blondie just asked him out to join them for drinks. You don’t do that with strangers. Some people really didn’t know limits.
Trust me
I know what you are talking about!~*~
