Vincent's POV
It's been a while since I've got my hands on some robotics. I examined every inch of it. It's true, all it really does is bark and move. It doesn't even blink.

I set it down on the table and got to work. Giving it facial recognition, the ability to listen to commands, and even a little banner that pops out that says "You can do it! <3".

I looked at the time. 11:30. I've been back here a while. I should at least test it before I give it to y/n. I stood up and stretched.

"Sit." The ears perked up and servos began to whir. It sat down and tilted its head.

"Roll over." It rolled over.

"Good puppy." It gave a little bark.

Time to test facial recognition. It's supposed to be able to read emotions. I picked up cards with different emotions on them.

Happy. It barked and ran in a circle.

Angry. It sat and whimpered.

Scared. It looked for danger and growled.

Sad. The banner came out.

Perfect. I turned it off and carried it out of the room. I lightly shut the door behind me and locked it. Y/N was probably asleep by now. I peaked my head in the bedroom and sure enough, she was sound asleep. I smiled to myself and quietly got ready for bed.

~The next morning~
I got up to get ready for work. I was excited for y/n to see the puppy. After I got dressed I gently shook her.

"Y/n. Wake up," I said. She groaned and opened her eyes.

"What."

"Look." I pointed at the puppy sitting on the floor. She looked at it confusingly and sat up.

"It looks the same as before babe."

"Trust me it's different. It can listen to commands, read expressions and-"

"Baby," she said softly putting her hand on my shoulder. "I told you this was a temporary puppy. I feel bad now that you put all this work into it. I thought you were just going to make it be able to do more than bark. Like make it able to move it's ears and jump. Not all the fancy stuff."

My heart sank. She did say it was temporary. But I was more hurt by the fact that she seemed like she didn't like it. I picked up the puppy and started to leave.

"Hey,where you taking it?"

"I dunno." I replied. I felt her hand on my shoulder and I turned around.

"I never said I didn't like it." She lifted the dog out of my arms and smiled at it. It barked happily and wagged its tail. Y/n looked so happy. I looked at my watch.

"Alright babe. I gotta go. I love you." I kissed her forehead and went to work.

Y/N's pov
You sat there with the puppy in my lap. It wagged it's tail happily and wiggled its ears. He definitely passed the test. You sighed and carried it to the kitchen with me.

I guess that means I should look into it more. You thought as you started to make coffee. As you searched through the kitchen for something to eat. I could hear the puppy follow behind me.

As the coffee finished, you took the cup and took a small sip. Hot. You stuck your tongue out trying to soothe it. You began to get lost in your thoughts.

Should I actually be diving into his life? Even when I just showed up to his work he threw a huge fit. Could I be risking our relationship? Just because I'm nosy? You took another sip of coffee.

"Ah." It was still hot. It snapped you out of your thoughts. "Well," you looked at the puppy. "Let's get job searching, Astrid." You thought that was a good name for a puppy. The dog yelped and you both headed into the living room.
