Exsposed

A few weeks have passed since you found out what Vincent was hiding. Things weren't terribly different. The mark he gave you on your side was healing up, but you knew it would scar. You guess that was the point.

Sometimes you think back to that moment. The moment you first saw him covered in blood with a knife to your neck, and every time it gives you butterflies. Vincent knew that too, and he used it well. Always playfully dragging a knife across your arm every once in a while, coming up behind you and softly pressing it into your back. Always teasing but never actually going through with it.

Your job at the cinema was going well too. The extra income was nice, and you could tell it made Vincent happy too. With my job he was finally able to buy a new car that he had been saving up for. It warmed your heart to see him so happy, because you get to see that wonderful smile of his.

You made a cool friend at work too! Her name is Kara. She was really nice and was the best too goof around with. You could sit and listen to her wild stories about work all day.

"Y/n," she called out. You turn too look at her, and she waved you to follow her. "The food truck is here help me unload." You nodded with a smile and followed her to the back.

As you two helped the delivery man unload the truck, you joked around and laughed with each other. The theater was overstocking this week because there is supposed to be a popular movie coming out. You kinda wanted to see it too. Maybe you could bring Vincent with you too watch it on your day off.

"All done. Thanks for stopping by." Kara waved the delivery truck off. She turned to look at you and sighed. She hated stocking up the concessions and you didn't blame her.

She drug you along with her, sticking you on pop duty, which means changing the fountains drinks. As you go to unhook the tube, it sprays all over you. You heard Kara start to laugh as she walks over to you.

"Don't worry," she says in between giggles. "It happens to everyone at least once. Come on, we got some spare uniforms in the break room."

When you enter through the doorway, you suddenly have a shirt on your head. "Here's some pants too."

When you began to slip off your shirt you began to feel uneasy. You weren't exactly sure why. It was probably just nerves anyways. When your shirt was completely off you heard Kara speak up.

"Hey uh, that's an awful lot of scars and scratches you got there."

You froze. You felt your face begin to burn. What she was seeing was the result of your alone time with Vincent. You slowly turned around to see Kara looking at you concerned.

"Oh don't worry about it haha my cat gets a little crazy sometimes." You said shakily. Her brows furrowed.

"That x you got there looks pretty deliberate if you ask me. And some of those look pretty deep for a cat to do."

"I- haha. Uhm..." you stuttered as you slipped your new shirt back on.

"It's not your boyfriend doing that to you is it?"

You froze. You didn't want to lie to her. But it wasn't the way she was thinking. How could you explain to her something so personal.

"Kara I- the answer is yes but not in that way. So no. But also yes." You blurted out.

The two of you stared at each other for what seemed like forever. She finally broke the heavy atmosphere with a weak smile and a giggle.

"Ooh I get it. Y/n do be kinda freaky though." She said as she left the break room laughing. You called after her and she looked back at you.

"Just don't tell anyone please. It's kinda embarrassing." You said feeling the heat in your cheeks grow. Kara rolled her eyes and made a zipping motion across her lips. You sighed in relief as she walked away.

Kara's pov

As I walked down the hallway a sense of dread came over me. I hope y/n isn't dating who I think she is. That mark was all too familiar. I thought to myself as I grasped my hip, trying to stop the memories and trauma from flooding back.

I never want to see him again.
