Jack was just about to tell me something when I cut him off. "Alyssia, I-" Jack started when I interrupted him by kissing him. After a few seconds, he kissed back. We were then interrupted by JJ, when he walked in his room. "Ummm, I'm just going to leave you guys alone.." JJ said quickly taking off, shutting the door behind him. I pulled away from Jack. "What just-" I started to ask when Jack pulled me into another kiss. I kissed back, and chills ran throughout my body, never wanting to move from this position. What am I doing? Jack and I have been friends since forever, there's no way I would let our friendship be ruined by us becoming a thing. Just thinking about it terrorizes my mind. I love Jack dearly, but I don't exactly have those feelings for him, and I don't want to get any. It's for our own good. Those thoughts just kept running through my head. I pulled away from the kiss, jumped off the bed and stumbled out of the room, and went searching for Maggie. When I ran out of the room, Jack called for me, but I just kept running. "JJ, have you seen Maggie?" I asked JJ. "Yeah, she's out back. What happend upstairs between you and Jack?" JJ questioned with a smirk on his face. "Ok, thanks. And I'll explain to you later." I told him running off. There was at least a hundred people outside, but I was still able to find Maggie. "Maggie, lets go." I said helping her up. She was ready to pass out, so I had to carry her through the house. When we were almost out the door, Jack stopped me to talk. "Alyssia, can we talk about what happened between us?" Jack asked me. "Jack, I can't and don't want to talk right now, I've got to take Maggie home." I said storming off to the car with Maggie still in my arms.

Next morning

I woke up around 1 p.m., due to Maggie kicking me in her sleep. I went downstairs to make some breakfast and coffee, since we slept in too late, there was no point in going to school. I went back upstairs to my room and got on my phone. I had 8 missed calls and 9 messages, 5 calls and 8 messages from Jack, and 3 calls and 1 message from JJ. The messages read:
Jay Dogg;) - Hey, can we talk about what happened tonight?
Jay Dogg;) - Alyssia?
Jay Dogg;) - Are you ok?
Jay Dogg;) - Please talk to me!!!
Jay Dogg;) - Monkey, come on... :(
Jay Dogg;) - Where are you?
Jay Dogg;) - Why aren't you at school? I hope it's not because of me.
Jay Dogg;) - Come over later

Me - I overslept, I'll be over at your place in a while

JJ - So are you going to explain what happened last night ;)

I didn't reply to JJ, he's so nosey. While waiting for Jack's reply, I got on Twitter, and saw something that made my heart beat rapidly.
@jackgilinksy - I don't know what happened, but I need you here with me, right now.

I'm not sure if that's about me, but I have a strong feeling it is. Who else could Jack have been talking about? Or who could he have hooked up with since last night? This is ridiculous, I'm worrying over whether or not Jack hooked up with someone last night when I should be worried about what happened between us last night. Jack finally replied saying to come over around 3. It was 1:30 now, so I woke up Maggie and told her that we missed school and to just eat something before I took her home. I dropped Maggie off at her place, then went home to wash up. I decided to wear some white skinny hollister jeans, grey long sleeve shirt that said 'LA', my grey beanie, and my grey and white zebra print Jays. After gettig dressed, I took 15 minutes to curl my hair and put on some eyeliner, and mascara.

I pulled up to Jack's house, and he was patently waiting outside on his porch swing. I got out my car and sat next to him. After a couple minutes of pure awkwardness, Jack spoke up. "Hey.." "Hey, Jay." I said in return. "So, about last night.." Jack started. "Jack, I honestly don't know what to say, other than the fact that I was drunk. I know you don't wanna be anything more than friends, and neither do I. I-" and that's when Jack stopped me. "Alyssia, I don't know how to explain how I felt when you kissed me. To be honest, the only thing I can say is that I liked it. It changed my perspective of you. And you're right, I don't want to be anything more than friends, but that's only because I don't want to lose one of my best friends through a tough relationship." Jack said looking down at the ground. "Jack.." "Alyssia, I didn't mean that in a harsh way, I just don't want to lose you." Jack said intertwining our fingers. "Jack, you're not going to lose me. But, I totally agree with you." I said looking at our hands. He smiled and let go of my hand to hug me. Suddenly a car pulled into the driveway. "Jack could you help me get these groceries out of the car? Thank you. Oh, well hi, Alyssia. How have you been?" Jack's mom questioned. "Hi, Mrs. Finnegan. I've been great, what about you?" I asked. "Good, good. I've been really busy lately.. So what do you plan on doing for your birthday next week?" I wasn't really up to talk about my birthday, but I feel like I can talk about anything with Jack's mom. "Well, to be honest, nothing. I mean, like I do wanna hang out with some friends and family, but nothing to big. You know?" "Ahh, yes. I completely understand. Well, I've got to get started on dinner than take care of some business. Actually, Alyssia, would you like to stay for dinner?" I turned to look at Jack and his face looked up at mine, I didn't know what was happening between Jack and I, but I thought this would give us more time to talk, even though I don't want to. "I'd love to." I said looking back at Jack's mom.

"Jack, can we not talk about this anymore today. I just want us to be like we always are, young, wild, and stupid." I proclaimed. "Ok. That's fine. So, what do you want for your birthday?" Jack questioned. "Jack, you know I hate talking about my birthday!" "Well.. That's not my fault.. Come on, you'll be 18! So I know you want something huge." Jack said. "Jack, all I want is to see my brother and to spend time with all of you guys, that's really all I could ask for." I said, trying not to hold back my tears. My brother is in Georgia for National Guard, training to become apart of the military. He left three months ago, and he's supposed to be back for in the next month or so. It's hard to not have him here in Omaha with me, but I know he's out there doing this for the people of this country. "Alyssia, you know we all miss Cameron as much as you do, but he'll be back sooner than ever, even if he doesn't make it for your birthday. Have you spoke to him lately?" "Yeah, I know.. And we haven't talked for about a month now." "Oh, ok.. Tell what you really want for your birthday!" Jack said. "Jack.. I just said.. You know what, I want a puppy!" I said with a smirk. There's no way he'd get me a puppy. "Ok, I'll keep that in mind and just suprise you." Jack said intertwining our fingers. A small chill rushed through my body and I just wanted to be with him. I let go of his hand and looked him in the eyes. "Jack Gilinsky, you don't have to get me a puppy, I only saod that so you'd leave me alone about these gifts." "Yeah, I know. Just wait.." Jack said winking at me. "Dinner!" Jack's mom called. We went downstairs and ate dinner. "Thank you so much for having me for dinner. It was great being able to spend time here with you guys." I said, grabbing my bag and giving everyone a hug. "Thanks for coming, dear." Jack's mom said givung me a hug goodbye. "I'll walk you out." Jack said following me out the door. "This was fun. I'm glad we talked things out." Jack said. "Yeah, me too. We should do this again sometime this week." I said staring into his eyes. We stood there just staring jnto each others eyes for about two minutes. Jack started to lean in when I said, "Well, I should get going. Bye, Jay Dogg." I said sticking my tongue out and hopping into my car.
