"Episode 4 - Handcuff Knot"
[song playing: The Neighborhood - Sweater Weather]
(Jill and Valerie are jogging on the beach)
JILL: I'm glad you tagged along.
VALERIE: Thanks for the motivation.
JILL: Val, I had to buy you a box of donuts to convince you.
VALERIE: Exactly...motivation.
(Jill laughs)
VALERIE: How are things with Max?
JILL: (breathless) Honestly? I don't know. Good, I guess?
VALERIE: Didn't you say you worked things out before he left?
(girls stop jogging)
JILL: Sorta. He was supposed to text me back last night.
VALERIE: Is he still at his grandparent's?
(Jill nods)
VALERIE: You'll see him tonight though, right?
JILL: Yeah. I'm really looking forward to that.
VALERIE: (eyes light up) Look-out!
(a football lands near Jill. She screams)
(Valerie turns to see who the football belongs to and sees two athletic-looking guys approaching)
VALERIE: F***, that almost hit you!
(Jill picks up the football and looks around)
DEREK: I'm really sorry.
JILL: (attitude) Just be careful next time!
(Jill throws the football to Matt)
MATT: (to Jill) Whoa, nice throw! You play?
VALERIE: (interjects) I do!
MATT: (points to Derek) Think you can give 'em lessons?
DEREK: F*** you, dude! You're the little b**** who can't catch.
(the girls laugh)
(song fades into the background)
(Matt extends his hand to Jill)
MATT: I'm Matt and this is Derek.
(Derek quickly extends his hand to Jill)
DEREK: What's up?
(Valerie pushes Jill aside)
JILL: Ow! Val!
(Valerie shakes Derek's hand)
VALERIE: Valerie!
DEREK: Nice to meet you, Valerie.
VALERIE: You guys from around here?
DEREK: L.A.
MATT: Toronto.
JILL: Figures.
MATT: (laughs) Why's that?
JILL: Well, you're wearing a hockey jersey in California.
MATT: Real men play hockey.
JILL: Real men can catch.
