JEFF: (angry) You're threatening me?
(Jeff grabs Luke by his shirt)
JEFF: (shouts) Are you f***in' stupid?
(Jeff shoves Luke)
LUKE: If you hadn't left that party none of this would've happened!
JEFF: (shouts) No! Drugs got you into trouble. Not me!
LUKE: I just wanted to have fun.
JEFF: Did you? Was it fun watching Whit fall down the stairs?
LUKE: F*** you!
(Luke has tears in his eyes)
JEFF: You slipped her a pill?
LUKE: It was an accident...(upset) You think I'd do that?
JEFF: Well, you were threatening me a few seconds ago.
LUKE: (holding back tears) I'm so scared. I-I don't wanna go to jail.
JEFF: (sighs) You're not going to jail.
LUKE: Jeff-
JEFF: (nods) You have to man-up. You have to tell Whitney's parents the truth.
LUKE: They think I wanted to rape her!
JEFF: What?
LUKE: They filed a complaint with the police.
(Jeff is speechless)
LUKE: I'm in a lot of trouble. I really messed up this time.
[Next Scene]
MAX: Get away from me.
(David stops running)
(Max opens the driver door)
(Janet is standing behind David)
DAVID: Where are you going? Get inside so we can talk about this!
JANET: Max, sweetheart, listen to your father and get inside.
MAX: (looks at David) Are you?
(David looks shockingly at Max)
(tears stream down Max's face)
DAVID: Max-
(Max looks at David)
MAX: Are you my father?
(Janet places her hand over her mouth in shock)
(Max shakes his head and gets inside the vehicle)
DAVID: (shouts) Max!
(Max drives off into the night)
JANET: (in shock) Oh my God! David!
DAVID: (frantically) Mom, you need to go upstairs and search Max's room. Look in the closet, his dresser, underneath the mattress. Everywhere!
JANET: What am I looking for?
DAVID: A letter. (pauses) From Christine.
(Janet is in shock)
(David runs back inside the house and into his office. Janet follows him inside the house)
DAVID: I need my keys!
(David is searching the office for his keys)
(Henry enters the office)
HENRY (Max's grandfather): What's all the commotion about?
