Chapter 5: Efforts

Nakahiga na ako ngayon sa kwarto ko, nakatunganga lang sa kisame. Her words.. Hindi talaga maalis sa isip ko. "I cant. I'm sorry". By that time, naramdaman ko kaagad na may trust issues siya. She's keeping it inside. She doesn't want anyone to know the real her. But I'll try my best to get your trust, Xy. I won't give up. I'll take care of you. With that, pumikit na lang ako at nagbasakaling makatulog na rin ako.

--- XY'S POV ---
4:32am
I am eating my breakfast but my mind can't forgot about the "Can I know your story?" thingy. I just can't.. Tell it.. Yet.. I don't know. But that reminds me of what he said. "Trust me. Your secret is safe with me." Urrghhh. I hate this feeling.

Should I give him a chance to get to know me or not?

Ughhh. I give up. I'll just shake this thoughts off and take a shower.

---/SCHOOL/---
I am walking at the main hall until "Hey! Xy! Wait up!", I look behind and as usual, it's Jerome. "What?", sabay lagay ng earphones sa tenga ko. "Wala, is it bad na sabayan ka sa pagpasok?", nagtitinginan lahat ng mga istudyante. Geez. Dahil nanaman ba ito kay Jerome? Naramdaman kong inakbayan niya ako at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad, huh? "Shhh. Hayaan mo sila isipin kung anong gusto nila isipin. Hindi ka naman nila masasaktan dahil andito ako ih", sabay kindat. Pft. Ew. As if I'll fall for your charms.

---/LUNCH/---
Sinamahan niya ako sa garden at nilibre niya ako ng lunch ko. I don't usually eat lunch pero ng dahil sa kasama ko siya ay napilitan akong kumain. Geez?  Ang effort naman, sanaol. "Pwede moko tugtugan? Please?", nagpapakyut na sabi niya. Napangiti na lang ako at hinanda yung gitara ko. Nagsimula akong tumugtog.

Waaaah, she's good at singing and playing the guitar. Wait. Am I falling inlove with her? No. I.. I can't. We're friends. I just can't.. Not now.

---/XY'S HOME/--
--- XY'S POV ---
"Hey? Thank you sa paghatid sa akin pauwi. I'll treat you next time", nakangiting sabi ko. "Saan nmn, Xy?", tanong niya. "Sa pinagtatrabahuhan ko, malapit lang naman yun dito eh". Ngumiti siya sakin and I get it. Payag siya. "So uhm.. Una nako. It's late narin.", tumalikod siya at paalis na pero hinawakan ko kamay niya, "Since we don't have classes tomorrow, punta tayo sa pinagtatrabahuhan ko. And uhmm..

I'll tell you everything when we get back here."

Lumingon siya sakin at hinawakan balikat ko. "You can trust me. I promise."

With that, bumitaw na siya at nagpaalam na sakin. Tinitingnan ko siya habang papalayo sakin.

Am I doing the right thing? Tama bang binigyan ko siya ng chance? Kung sakali man.. Please.. I hope he'll stay after knowing
