Flying Monkeys

We all sit around the tabel watching Loki and Nick on a screen . "In case it's unclear, if you try to escape, if you so much as scratch that glass " Fury presses a button and a hole opens unerneath Lokis cage. "Its 30,000 feet straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works ?" Nick yells over the air before gesturing to Loki calling him and Ant then points back to the button  closing the  exit calling it boot. A reference to our introduction with Loki. This causes Loki to chuckle . "Its an impressive cage . Not built , I think for me."

"Its built for something a lot stronger than you."

"Oh , Ive heard" Loki says looking the the survalence camera next to him. " A mindless beast . Makes play hes still a man"  . We all look up at Bruce , Hes chewing on his glasses and watching Loki avoiding our eyes. "How desperate are you, that you call on such lost creatures to defend you?"

"How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war . You steal a force you can't hope to control. You talk about peace, and you kill because its fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glada that you did." Fury says walking closer to Loki with each sentence.

"Ooh. It burns you to have come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share. And then to be reminded what real power is."

Fury gives a half smile but as soon as its there it gone. " Well , let me know if 'Real Power' wants a magazine or something" he says walking away.

The video disappears and  Banner speaks up , "He really grows on you doesnt he?".  Steve looks away and then to me . "Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor, Whats his play?" he asks turning his attention to Thor . "He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard , nor any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the Earth, in return , I suspect , for the Tesseract."

"An army from outer space." Steve states almost not believing him. "So , he's building another portal." Banner pauses and looks at me . I give him a 'what' face knowing he's looking at me because one of my abilities is to open portals. "Thats what he needs Erik Selvig for. Luckily he didnt get Val here becuase then we wouldnt stand a chance" he continues after looking up at me. "Thanks?" I reply not knowing if it was a compliment.

Thor eyes me again , still on edge about my purpose because of what Loki said and the comment Bruce just made. "Selvig" he asks. "Hes an astrophysicist" replies Bruce. "Hes a friend" Thor states back . I dont rember Dr.Selvig talking about Thor . Maybe friendships with Gods didnt come up as a topic during our discussions.

"Loki has him under some kind of spell" Nat states before looking at me sadly "Along with one of ours". " I wanna know why Loki let us take him, He's not leading an army from here" Steve voices. "I dont think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You could smell crazy on him" Banner jumps back into the conversation.  

"Have care how you speak . Loki is beyond reason but he is still of Asgard. And hes my brother" Thor states in an almost threatening tone. I looked at him with my bitch face and said "He killed 80 people in two days". "Hes adopted" Thor defended "And we never did continue our conversation. "Oh you mean when you almost killed me because Loki wanted to have a bit of fun" I say sarcastically and give him the finger. "Wait what !" Natasha yells jumping out of her seat and sending Thor a glare that would most defenately kill him if looks could kill.

Steve also looked pissed and firmly stated "Sorry but this is a topic to another time . Right now we need to focus " he gave me and apologetic look . I only nodded at him in understandment.

"I think it's about the mechanics. Iridum, what do they need the iridum for?" Bruce asks . "Its a sabalizing agent" I reply as Stark walks in talking to Coulson. "It means the portal wont collaspe in on its self like it did at Sheild" I continue.

Tony walks towards Thor and pats him on his very large bicep . " No hard feelings Point Break. You've got a mean swing." Walking towards a bunch of screen he continues "Also it means the portal can open as wide and stay open as long as Loki wants.  Rais the mizzenmast. Jib the Topsails" he starts joking around causing agents to stop what their doing and look at him. "That man is playing Galaga. He thought we wouldnt notice but we did." He moves a hand to cover one of his eyes. "How does Fury even see these?" "He turns" Hill replys like its obvious. "Sounds exhausting" . God Tony you sound like a spoiled rich kid. But then again that is what you are "The rest of the Raw materials Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. The only major compnet he still need is a power source of high-energy density. Something to kick start the cube"

"When did you become an expert on Theronuclear astrophysics?" Hill asks. "Last night" he says looking me her the eyes. I raise an eye brow at him. "The packet , Selvig and Grey's notes , the extraction theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?" he asks .

"Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?" Steve asks. I was about the answer but Banner beat me to it . "He would have to heat the Cube to 120 million Kelvin just to break the barrier". "Unless Selvig has figured out how to stabilize the quantum tunneling effect ." I state standing up walking to stand next the Banner as he speaks "Well if he could do that he could achieve heavy ion fusion at any reactor on the planet".

"Finally people who speak english" Tony said walking up to Banner and I. I hear Steve ask if thats what just happend and I gigled at him catching his attention. He smiled back and I looked down blushing a bit . Hey stop it Val what are you even feeling you just met the guy stop blushing!   " Its good to meet you Dr. Banner , and I already know you Agent Valerie Grey." He syas not even looking at me .  ugh . " Your work on Antielectron collisions is unparalleled" he says pointing at Banner. " And im not complimenting you in science because your smarter than me" he says pointing at me but  still looking away from Banner . "Did Tony Stark just say I was smarter than him?!" I ask Nat in disbelif .  She was justed as shocked as I was. Our last encounter with the billionare wasn't very good and we were expecting him to be petty and childish about it. " And Im a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green-rage monster." He continues with Bruce. "Thanks" Banner said a bit uncomfortable.

Fury walks in speaking almost immediately " Dr.Banner is only here to track the cube ,  I was hoping you and Agent Grey would join him". "I would start with that stick of his. It may be magical but it works an aweful lot like a Hydra weapon" Steve advises noticing how uncomfortable I look when the topic of Hydra comes up. "I dont know about that , but it is powered by the Cube. and I know Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys" Fury continues. I look down in sadness because both of the men he was talking about were my friends and Loki keeps fucking with me too. What does he want and why is he obsessing over me?

"Monkeys ? I do not understand" Thor states . "I do!" Steve interjects " I understood that reference". I smiled at that,  it was so cute.  Tony rolls his eyes then turns to me and Bruce. "Shall we play doctor and agent". "This way sir" Bruce says and I follow them to the lab.
