They watched in horror as figures resembling human bodies, cloaked in searing magma, began to crawl out of the crack.

"Whoa! What are those things?" Rolwin asked, his voice trembling with fear.

"Those are evil souls," Clair replied, alarm evident in her voice. "They've made it to Isvel. We're too late." She paused, eyes widening in horror. "It seems they've used the pit itself to shape their bodies."

"How is that possible? Souls don't have consciousness!" Ark paused, a flicker of doubt crossing his face. "Do they?" His voice trembled, filled with both fear and confusion.

Clair's expression remained grim as she responded, "I'm just as lost as you are."

"They're bearing their punishment, spreading it to this world," Per added anxiously.

Clair soared towards the chasm, intent on closing it, but Frendil, his featherless wings spread wide, intercepted her path.

"Why don't we have a little fun first?" he suggested, a cruel smile twisting his lips.

Fury ignited within Clair. She lunged at him, their weapons meeting in a fierce clash that sent dark, malevolent sparks and choking smoke swirling around them as they battled fiercely. Every harsh strike echoed with jarring sounds, the wind whipping violently with each collision.

Frendil wrestled against Clair's rapid, heavy whip, expecting her relentless strikes. "I hear the boy survived," he sneered, deflecting the scythe's blade with a deft block.

"Shut up!" Clair screamed, her rage boiling over. She launched a powerful kick to his lower torso, the full force of her anger behind it. He was hurled to the ground, stumbling heavily from the impact.

Clair wasted no time and lunged at him again, her scythe raised high and gripped tightly, ready for a decisive strike. As she brought the weapon crashing down, he dodged deftly and soared higher, watching for her through the swirling dust and dark mist of her attack. When she emerged, her face was contorted with rage.

Frendil's laughter echoed mockingly. "You really care about that boy, don't you? What was his name again? Ah, yes... Zach." He grinned wickedly. "How tragic that you can't be with him," he taunted.

Clair glared at him, her eyes blazing with anger. She spread her wings wide, preparing to strike again, when a sudden, searing pain erupted across her back. She was slammed to the ground, pinned by two evil souls with bodies of blazing molten rock. The intense heat scorched her skin as she struggled to rise.

Seizing the opportunity, Frendil charged at her. He flapped his wings furiously and dove down with speed, sword clenched tightly, aiming for Clair's back. But before he could reach her, Cerro appeared in his path, blocking the strike with his own weapon.

Clair freed her right arm and swung the blade of her scythe with precision. As the edge made contact, it absorbed the creatures' darkness. Their bodies crumpled and scattered to the ground. The souls, now weightless, were drawn back toward the chasm leading down to the pit. Clair soared back up and joined Cerro.

Seeing them, Frendil swiftly backed away.

"You're late," Clair said to Cerro, her eyes still locked on Frendil.

"Maybe a 'thank you' before the lecture?" Cerro shot back. "Sealing off this entire place was no small feat. Now we’ve got to make sure the battle stays right here."

Clair turned to check on her companions, who were battling to contain the evil souls escaping through the chasm.

"I have an idea. Can you keep him busy for a bit?" she asked.
