"I'll go see Jacksen," Ark said. "I'll ask Filbur for help. Maybe we can find something from his memories."

He turned his attention to Per. "Call Cerro. We need him here."

Per nodded.

The moment Ark left the room, Per pulled out her phone and contacted Cerro. While waiting for the call to connect, her eyes remained on Clair, who hadn't moved from her seat.

After the call ended, Per slowly walked over and sat beside her. "Hey..." Per said gently. "Like Ark said, they won't kill him. They need him alive. Maybe..."

She stopped, the words catching in her throat.

Clair's eyes remained fixed on the table. "They'll come for me," she said quietly. "They'll use Zach to control me." Her voice was calm, but every word carried her hatred.

Per felt her stomach tighten. The situation had become far worse than she wanted to believe.

"I'll try to reach Calliso and find out more," she said. She hesitated for a moment before continuing. "Clair, you need to stay focused. Don't let this break you. Zach needs you now, and we'll get him back."

Clair closed her eyes and took a slow breath, forcing herself to regain control. After a moment, she opened them and gave a small nod.

At six o'clock in the morning, Ark, Filbur, Per, Cerro, and Clair gathered around the dining table. Clair was already seated, her eyes fixed on the table as the others quietly took their places.

"Okay, I'll start," Ark said, leaning forward with his arms resting on the table. "There were three people behind the attack in Jacksen's memory. They were all disguised as ordinary people. One of them pretended to be blind to gain their trust."

He paused, his expression becoming more serious. "When they got inside the restroom, one of them grabbed Zach while another injected him with something that knocked him unconscious. Jacksen heard the struggle and came out of the stall. He tried to help Zach..."

Ark took a breath. "That's when they shot him. The first bullet hit his forehead, but it wasn't enough to kill him. Then they shot him twice in the chest, near his heart."

Per winced, imagining what Jacksen had gone through.

"Fortunately, his waist bag was positioned across his chest. It took some of the impact and kept the bullets from reaching his heart directly. He's alive, but he lost a significant amount of blood and will need to stay in the hospital for a while." Ark turned to Filbur, who nodded to confirm his words.

"I couldn't find anything that could identify the attackers aside from their faces. No one mentioned a name or gave any information we could use to track them down." Ark added, his calm tone unable to hide his frustration.

"Let's say they call and demand Claireth in exchange for Zach..." Cerro looked directly at Clair. "What will you do?"

Clair slowly turned toward him. Her gaze was distant, but there was no hesitation in her answer. "I'll go."

The room fell silent.

"My main priority right now is Zach. Once I make sure he's safe and out of their hands, I'll find Eifrit and the others. This must end then and there. They've gone too far." Her voice was steady, leaving no doubt about what she had decided.

Filbur nodded. "Yes, we can use this as our opportunity. If they reach out, we'll finally have a way to locate them and get to them." He let out a tired sigh. "I'm sick of their twisted games."
