Before the mission, Filbur had successfully developed an immunity drug and administered it to Clair, allowing her to resist the effects of the substance Yustin had injected into her.

The plan required her to remain unconscious, so she kept her body still as she was wheeled around for several minutes. Once they entered an unfamiliar room, she slightly opened one eye, carefully observing her surroundings.

Through her blurred vision, she discerned several empty cylinder tanks. The bed carrying her came to a stop, and she was carefully transferred onto another table, her wings spread out. After a few minutes, two individuals in lab coats approached her. The female started removing her upper garments, while the male lowered a large body scanner from above the bed. The machine started generating an image of Clair's wing structure on the monitor.

Yustin, tasked with keeping a close watch on her, noticed something was wrong. While the male doctor studied the scanner's images on the monitor and the female doctor retrieved a basket trolley, placing Clair's torn leather jacket and boots inside, Yustin remained at the foot of the bed, watching her closely.

A strange feeling grew stronger as he approached her head. He leaned closer, carefully examining her face. For a brief moment, nothing changed, but then he saw it, a faint twitch.

Before he could confirm what he had seen, the scanner shifted into position, blocking the surveillance camera's view of Clair. She moved the instant the opportunity appeared, grabbing his hair and covering his mouth before he could even breathe a warning.

His eyes widened as he realized something was wrong, but his body failed to respond. Clair had already reached his mind, suppressing his actions before he could resist. With Ark's mark on her left palm, she accessed his ability.

Mr. Volkov monitored the facility from the control room, observing Yustin as he approached Clair, who lay on the bed. However, Mr. Volkov's view was obscured by the scanner machine above Clair, preventing him from seeing what transpired. Just as suspicion began to surface, his most trusted aide stepped away to confer with the doctors. After a brief exchange, Yustin returned to his post.

"Sir, there's someone outside," reported one of the operators in the control room, gesturing towards a screen displaying the exterior camera feed.

Mr. Volkov observed a man with a large backpack wandering outside the facility on the monitor. "Probably another lone hiker from the city with a miserable life. Send someone to take care of him. Dispose of the body where it won't be found," he ordered.

As two men emerged from the facility's entrance, Ark prepared himself, clad in a bucket hat and black round sunglasses. The men cautiously advanced, gripping their guns.

"Hey! I'm lost and cold! I'm looking for some help... Are those guns?" Ark asked, but the men persisted, now aiming their weapons at him.

Ark raised both hands, dropping his bag. "Whoa! Whoa! Take it easy. I'm not a threat. I'm just a lost backpacker," he explained.

The men seemed deaf. They fired upon hearing Mr. Volkov's signal through their earphones, yet neither bullet found its mark. They tried again, with the same result.

"What's wrong with you? Are you really going to kill me without even asking a single question?" Ark challenged them.

Once more, they fired.

"You're just wasting your bullets. That won't work on me," Ark murmured, confident that their weapons would fail to harm him, shielded as he was by his hidden wings.
