They both looked and it was Shane who was standing behind Julie.

“Hello, Shane.”Julie smiled at him.

“Hi, Julie is this your dog?”

“Yes, her name is Spirit.”

“How are you Spirit?”Shane cuddled the dog’s face.

“So, Shane, we were just talking about the party.” Nicky said.

“What about it?”Shane asked.

“Julie’s coming and she’s going with me.” Nicky answered.

“What?” Shane asked, like what Nicky said attracted his attention.

“She’s coming with me to the party, and Georgina already knows about it.” Nicky sighed.

Shane looked at Julie.

“Why don’t you sit down here, Shane.” Julie offered him a sit beside her, she moved close to Nicky to give Shane a space to sit down.

“I think I’ll leave you two first, while I take a walk around with Spirit.” Nicky smiled. Julie knows what Nicky’s doing; he wanted her and Shane to have a talk, since he knows that she likes Shane. Nicky stood up and started to walk with Spirit, leaving Shane and Julie alone sitting on the bench.

“So, you’re going to the party with Nicky?” Shane asked Julie.

“Yeah, I have no choice when he offered me that.”

Shane remains quiet.

“How about you?” Julie asked.

“Gillian, can’t make it tonight.”

“Oh, that’s too bad.” Pretending she doesn’t already know about it.

“Could I go with you guys tonight?” Shane asked.

“What do you mean?”

“See, since I don’t have a date, I don’t have company, and I sort of feel alone.” Shane replied.

“What about the other lads?”

“They’re busy with their partners.”

“Shane, I’m sorry.”

“For what?”

“Because right now, I’m feeling guilty, cause it seems like that I’m stealing your best friend.”

“That’s not what it seems like, Julie, your also our friend.”

“I know, but Nicky’s your best friend, and I seem to be closer to him than you are.”

“It’s okay; I don’t actually get that feeling, that someone is stealing my best friend from me.” Shane moves closer to Julie.

“Really, you’re not angry to me about it?”

“No, there’s no reason to be.”

Julie went back to their main subject. She felt concerned about Shane, moreover, she wanted Shane to join them tonight. But how about the surprise? The cake? Well, It’s probably alright, Shane’s a person to trust, she thought.

“Alright, then.”

“What?” Shane asked.

“You’re going to the party with us, tonight.”

“Really, it’s alright for you?”

“Of course Shane, I think Nicky would also agree with it.”
