Chapter 18

Everybody looked at Julie as if she was a criminal.

“Is that true, Julie?” Shane asked her.

“No, she slipped her foot and when she was starting to fall, she grabbed my arm and that’s how we fell on the pool.” Julie said calmly.

“Of course, she’s lying!” Gillian shouted again.

“No I’m not!” Julie defended herself.

“Yes you are!, You pushed me because you were jealous of me! Because Shane likes me and not you!” Gillian shouted back.

“Julie?” Shane looked at her.

“I didn’t pushed anyone on the pool, I swear to God I’m telling the truth, but I’m not going to lie about Shane, I liked him ever since I first met him until now. But I don’t have to push someone on the pool just because I’m jealous, because I know that’ll be a terrible mistake.” Julie shouted but she was looking at Shane thinking, Shane I hope you believe every word I just said.

She left the party and drove off to her apartment. She was crying, hoping that it should never had happened.

Days later and she’s not showing up to the lads, she felt ashamed about what happened.

Then a week later, she received a message from Nicky;

Louis Walsh wanted to talk to you, really important.

She dressed up and fixed herself and drove off to the studio. Louis was just waiting for her in the office.

“You probably know why I called you.” Louis told her.

Then it hits her, I’m fired, she thought.

“I’m fired, am I?” Julie took a deep breath.                 

“Unfortunately, yes, but it wasn’t me who came up with this.” Louis was also sad about this.

“What?, who did?” Julie asked.

“Shane Filan”

“Shane?”

“Yes, he requested a new songwriter, because he said he wanted to distance away from you.”

 Julie left the office, tears falling down on her face. Nicky saw her.

“What did he told you?” Nicky asked and he saw tears falling from Julie’s eyes.

Julie doesn’t have to answer, Nicky hugged him and he told Julie he wanted to talk about it.

They went to the lobby and Julie told Nicky everything Louis told her.

“I can’t believe him” Nicky was talking about Shane.

“So Nicky, how was Shane doing? And your friendship?” Julie asked.

“Shane’s good, our friendship’s bad.” Nicky replied.

“What do you mean?”

“We still hadn’t talk to each other.” Nicky sighed.

“But you wanted to, right?”

“Of course, I’m just looking for the right time.”

Julie remains quite.

“What about our plan, Julie?”

“What plan?”

“Would you just let Gillian ruin Shane’s life?” Nicky asked.

“Of course not!, Were still partners and I wouldn’t let Gillian ruin Shane’s life.”

They talked about their plan, they have to communicate with Gillian’s real boyfriend, the man she’s with when she went shopping.

They tried to follow her car, but they would always lost her out of sight.

Several months later, Nicky heard from the other lads that Shane was going to propose to Gillian in Dubai this December. It’s the last week of November already and Shane and Gillian must have probably booked their flight.

Nicky told Julie the news.

“I knew this was coming.” Julie felt weak.

“Julie, be strong, anything is possible.”

“I know, but what do we have to do now?”

“I have a plan.” Nicky said.

“What?.”

“Gillian will probably say a goodbye to her real boy friend right?”

“Yeah, I wonder what alibi would she tell him now.”

“More of that later, the point is Julie, were going to look for Gillian’s real boyfriend.”

“What?”

“You go buy 3 tickets to Dubai, just in case and , we’ll watch for Gillian, to locate where her real boyfriend lives, we’ll take her real boyfriend to the airport with us and we’ll show him up there..”

“What do you think Shane would feel about it?” Julie asked.

“Broken hearted of course, but at least we save him from real danger.”

“Alright Nicky let’s do it.” Julie smiled.

Julie bought three tickets to Dubai and they were scheduled in the first week of December.

She told Nicky about it and he was delighted.
