Chapter 5

“Shane” Julie said, she was shaking

“Oh Julie, what’s up ?, I mean, I thought you were the one suppose to sleep on the sofa, what’s Nicky doing there ?”

She thinks of an alibi.

“Well, actually, woke up very early and at the same time, Nicky did too, he said that the room is very cold, so I just let him sleep on the sofa cause I’m gonna go take a bath anyway.” She lied, hoping Shane would buy it.

“Oh, is that so?.” Shane was a little curious.

“Yeah”

“Alright it’s my turn to take a bath now”

“Okay then”

Julie walked out the door, while Shane got in. He closed the door and Julie heard him singing inside.

Minutes later, she saw Nicky woke up.

“Nicky !”

“Oh, hi Julie, how was your sleep?”

“Shut up, Shane almost caught me”

“What ?, what happened ?”

“Well,  I got up and he didn’t caught me, but rather, after I took a bath, I was surprised cause he was standing outside the door and started asking me why are you sleeping in the sofa.”

“So, what did you tell him ?”

“I think of an alibi, and I said that when I woke up earlier this morning, I saw you woke up too and you told me that the room was cold so I just let you sleep in the sofa and that’s when I decided to take a bath”

“You know, if the room was cold, I could just use the blanket”

“I couldn’t think of anything else, Nicky”

“Did he buy it ?”

“I don’t know”

“C’mon, Shane is very clever, he knows if you’re lying or not”

“Then, that’s making me think that I got caught”

“Were caught, not just you”

“Nicky, what if he finds out that I sleep beside him last night?”

“It’s alright, I got your back, it’s no big deal anyway, nothing happened, it’s just a sleep, and if ever we got caught about that, I’m the one to explain.”

“Alright, thanks Nicky”

“Anytime” Nicky smiled and hugged her, they just let go of each other when they heard the door open and Shane got out of the bath room.

Mark woke up and it’s Nicky’s time now to take a bath.

“Anyone hungry?, I’m gonna cook some breakfast”. Shane said while drying his hair with a towel.

Mark and Julie looked at him.

“Do you mind if I help?”  Julie asked.

Julie’s parents are a great cook, and they would always teach her different recipes to practice her. They now have a restaurant but Julie wanted to do something else than cooking, a little adventure, that’s how she landed up in London, looking for a job.

“Not at all.” Shane replied to her.

Julie went to the kitchen and joined Shane.

“So, what’s the menu?” she asked.

“Steak”

“Steak ?”

“Yeah, why ?”
