Russia's POV

"WHAT?!?"

No, he can't be gone! This has to be a mistake! Some kind of sick prank! He's here, in the other room laughing his butt off at my expense! I jump up and race out of my room, blinking back tears.

Oh My Pangaea.

Blood coated the walls, dripping down in splatters. Bullet holes riddled the hallway. There were cracks in the wall, and things all around the dorm were broken and out of place. I heard sobbing coming from the living room, and I walked dazedly in. It felt like a dream, like any minute now I would wake up and everything would be fine.

Any hopes of this being a joke faded when I saw Canada.

He was kneeling on the ground, holding a scrap of America's shirt that must have gotten torn off in the fight. He wasn't crying, at least not any more. He just sat there, staring at the piece of shirt that was slick with blood.

He looked broken.

Without looking up at me, Canada spoke. "H-he told m-m-me we are b-being targeted. One country h-has been taken from each d-d-dorm. They are trying t-to p-provoke us to look for them. T-to get mad and b-blindly rush in to their rescue." He finally looked up at me.

"South Korea, Ukraine, and now America..."

My eyes widened with realization. Poland, who was cleaning up the blood, froze as we both came to the same conclusion.

Either Germany or Poland was next.

The Next Day...

We didn't split up. If one of us had to get a drink, we all went. Even if the teachers didn't let us, we just got up and went. The teachers were mostly just pissed off at our disobedience, not actually serious enough to call our parents, although I wonder if that wasn't also part of the plan. If our parents came, they would ask where their missing kids were, and cause a scandal.

I felt unattached all day, still shell-shocked from the events of the previous night. If someone asked me a question, I would just stare ahead blankly. It creeped everyone out, so they left me alone.

'It's probably my fault America got taken. Heck, they were using guns for crying out loud, and I still didn't wake up. I'm a failure. The first person who ever saw past my cold front is now gone...'

Flashback...

It was the first day of my new school. I had just moved here with my family and I didn't know a single person other than my siblings. Ukraine had already made friends, and was sitting at the lunch table with them. I snuck a look.
