CLAIRE HADN'T BEEN anything but nice to the two girls all summer, so needless to say when November and Danielle were going off for school, they were both going to miss the young 28 year old.
"You know you girls can visit..." Claire said as she pulled away from hugging Dani. November hugged the women and nodded.
"Yes we know"
"We can probably visit every weekend if we don't have games or practices.." Dani said as Nova and Claire pulled away from one another, "you only live half an hour away... we can take the train"
"I'd love that" Claire smiled
November glanced around at slightly empty courtyard that morning. Technically, their first day of classes wasn't until tomorrow but their coach had said to show up the day before to move into the dorms and meet their other teammates.
Apparently there were seven other freshman (or year 10's) joining the team.
"We should get going" Dani smiled as November turned her gaze back to them.
Nova, who had her suitcase on the ground and a rather big box filled with her other belongings in her hand, lifted her knee to adjust the load. "Yes please," November chuckled, "my arms are hurting and I told Connie I'd call her since today was her first day"
Dani adjusted her back pack strap and mimicked November's actions with adjusting her own box in her hands before grabbing her suitcase and beginning to roll it away.
"Bye Aunt Claire!" Dani called as she turned around to look at the lady one last time
November gave a wave and walked faster to catch up to the ginger girl.
"Charlie called earlier," Dani said as November finally reached her side, "he wanted to talk to you but you were taking a shower so he said to tell you if you could talk later"
Nova pursed her lips together and nodded. "When I call Connie he'll probably be there anyway..."
"Have you talked to Adam at all?"
November stopped breathing for a moment and stayed silent as her gaze fixated on the rocks on the ground. The girl bit the inside of her cheek and shook her head. "No.." she whispered out in a raspy voice. She desperately tried to find something to switch her mind to. "So I wonder who our dorm mates are"
Danielle looked at her and chuckled. "Who ever they are, I hope they aren't as messy as Anisha"
November let out a laugh as she reminisced back to how messy Anisha Gold was. "I remember when we were cleaning out her bag and we found a sandwich in there"
"Oh yeah!" Dani exclaimed, "she didn't even know when she got it"
As the two girls neared the dormitory's, they looked down at the sheet of paper that held which dorm the two would be staying in.
"601?" Dani asked in a confused manner as she squinted at the messily written number, "there isn't even a 601!"
November shrugged and turned the sheet over before laughing in realisation. "Ohhhh it's says 109!"
Danielle nodded and looked at the door numbers. "109 should be right..." the girl took a couple steps before stopping, "here."Nova put her box on the ground and slipped her arm out of one backpack strap to move it to her side. She opened the front pocket and rummaged through it for a bit before finally finding the key she had been given in the envelope her and Dani received the day prior, regarding everything that were to happen for the school term.
Nova unlocked the door and picked up her box while Dani twisted the nob and pushed the door open.
As they entered, they found six beds, two of which were a bunk bed. It was quite a big room and it seemed as though everyone could have their own wardrobe. There were boxes on the top bunk bed and a sleeping girl with headphones and a Walkman on on the bottom. Obviously that was claimed.
