John’s POV

I stand up straight and throw myself at the door, preventing Sherlock from opening it. He cannot tell his brother, the school will kick Harry out and I cannot have her going back there. “No Sherlock you cannot tell Mycroft.” Sherlock looks at me dumbfounded making me sigh loudly. “She has been missing for two days and my grandparents haven’t even thought of contacting me.”

“The police neither.” Sherlock responds taking a step away from the door. Now I am the one that is dumbfounded. “If your grandparents had made contact with Scotland yard-” Posh boy, “Then they would have sent officers here to talk to you. But I don’t see any officers.” He’s right. They just don’t care about us! I thought they at least cared about Harry but apparently not! I am so angry! I cannot even!

Sherlock’s POV

John picks up a mug from nearby and flings it at the wall causing it to break and his sister to jump back in shock now looking a little scared of her brother. “John calm down.” I assert as I approach and the door flings open to reveal a confused Mike Stamford. “Mike! Take John’s sister somewhere, don’t let anyone see her. Will explain later.” He just nods making me smirk as he carefully drags Harry out of the room. I approach John with care who is now hunched over still fuming with anger while gripping onto the bunk beds. I place my hand gently on his shoulder but he pushes it away. This is all new to me…I am just trying to help. “John. I understand that you must be hurting I don’t know what I would do without my parents.”

“This is not about my parents!” John yells, “They are dead! End of story! This is about Harry…” I sigh. This is not going to be easy. I cannot persuade John that everything is okay because I don’t know myself if that is true and for some reason I cannot lie to him.

“She can stay here.” I state and he suddenly looks up with a small smile on his face, “Until we think of a more permanent plan. But she will have to stay hidden.”

“Okay.” John agrees, “Thank you Sherlock, I don’t how I can express my thanks-”

“I will have to tell my brother.” His face falls, “He will be able to help. He may be cold as eye but he does care…” John begins to laugh but I have no idea why so I just raises my eyebrow so he stops. I have that effect on people.

“Sorry. It just pained you to say that about Mycroft.” I nod. How are we going to play this?
