John’s POV

Sherlock straightens his blazer and turns up the collar because he thinks it makes him look cool. Oh how he is wrong. He takes a couple of deep, slow breaths before open the door abruptly and waltzing down the corridor not looking back. Looks like I’m going to have to shut the bloody door then. I sigh and stroll over the door which I shut dramatically causing Harry to laugh. You know, for a high functioning sociopath, he is not a bad guy. “Don’t worry Harry. Sherlock will sort it out.” I assure my little sister who is still gently sipping at her juice.

Sherlock’s POV

I walk down the long, winding corridors of the main building heading towards Mycroft’s office. He was not in his dormitory and Lestrade hasn’t seen him so I gather he is there. I hate his office. It is so dark and formal and Mycroft-y. I just think it is plain ridiculous that the head boy gets an office, it is not like the position is as important as the head teacher himself or…the current King of England. A couple of students pass me, giving me odd looks. Especially Carl Powers. He never liked me but for no other reason other than that I’m different. He is carrying his swimming bag on his left side which shows that he is nervous about his next swimming gala which I think is away. Not sure. Trivia. “Ah brother dear. Are you looking for me?” My brother appears in front of me. I didn’t realise that I had got to his office already.

“Yes actually.” I grimace, “I need to talk with you.”

“About?” He questions with an eyebrow raised.

“A…situation of such.” He doesn’t budge, “Please Mycroft. It is important.” He moves aside and I step into his office reluctantly but then I remember why I am doing this. For John.

“I know what is going on but I want to know why you want to help him. Have you finally found a friend Sherlock? Mummy will be proud.” He rambles on spitefully. God I hate him. But he is right, why am I doing this? I have never had friends before but some reason my knowledge is cloudy on why John is different to everyone else. Surely he is just a common man who has a few aspirations and sentiment for his sister. Now the sister. There is an interesting being. She looks up to John a lot but there is something different about her. She is one of a kind and I bet anything that John and she will be close for life. “Sherlock!” My brother brings me out of my mind palace suddenly. I hate it when he does that. “Stay out of your memory palace for one minute.” He instructs.

“Mind palace.” I correct him. “John – for some unknown reason – gets on well with me. I am not going to throw that away. Now the sister.” I begin, “She cannot go back there Mycroft, she is uncared for.”

“That is where you are wrong, brother mine.” I look at him with a look of perplexity, “Always so stupid.” He mutters, “She ran away and they informed the authorities but nowadays Scotland Yard are useless but that will change.” I scoff at his arrogance, “I think my roommate will be a great detective.”

Will?” I question, “I thought Graham wanted to be a footballer.”

“It’s Greg. And I will shape him. Believe me.”
