Sherlock’s POV

I knew it! I knew he was hiding something! Why does everyone leave me? Why?! I continue to march may way through block B passing many people who are giving me odd looks and some muttering ‘freak’ under their breath. I ignore these delinquents and just keep on walking. I have no where I want to go or need to be but I have just got to stay away from John. I understand that he might want to follow his father footsteps…actually no I don’t. Why would anyone want to do that? “Sherlock!” Someone shouts at me to get me out of my mind palace. Ah it’s Gavin. “Just wondering, are you staying here in the Christmas holidays?” He asks me and I scrunch my nose up at the thought.

“No of course not.” I scoff.

“Oh ok.” He shifts awkwardly, “I have been told to ask everyone in block B so…is John staying?” I think for a second, his grandmother said he is not welcome home so I guess so.

“I think so, I am not sure. You should ask him.” I explain tiredly.

“Okay. You see Myc wants to know how many rooms are needed because in the holidays any remaining students have to stay in block A. So John would be paired up with someone else in that block.” I have no idea why he is telling me this. I don’t care. I think he has realised this from my facial expression. “I will go and ask John. See you later.” I nod before he rushes up the stairs.

John’s POV

I did not mean to make Sherlock upset…I just have to join the army. For my father, my mother and so I have somewhere to live. There is a knock at the door before it is opened revealing a flustered looking Greg. “John.” He pants as he enters my dormitory. “I was just wondering, are you staying for Christmas?” He asks me. Sadly yes because I am not welcome home. I will have to send my present in the post for Harry.

“Yes I am staying here.” I inform him.

“Great!” He exclaims a bit too happily, “Sorry.” He scratches the back of his neck awkwardly, “It is just for Christmas everyone has to stay in house A, seeing both of the Holmes brothers are going back home for Christmas we are going to be alone. You want to share dorms with me?”

“Yeah sure.” I reply with a more enthusiastic tone.

“No Christmas presents though.” He states as he leaves. Leaving me alone.
