Nobody saw this coming. Who would've thought we'd be in the ER at 2 in the morning with y/n almost dead

{The morning before}

"Babe we're gonna be late for the bus!" I yell to my girlfriend who comes rushing over to me while putting her shoes on still. I look at her and smile. "What" She asks and blushes, "Nothing, your just beautiful." I say and peck her on the lips. "Now let's not miss the bus" I say and open the hotel room door, "We have a final to win today" I say and she giggles

Today, we were up against the Netherlands for the final of the World Cup. We were on top of the world, the favorites to win the world cup, the number one team in the world, and to top it all off, all we have to do is beat the Netherlands for the championship.

We get to the lobby as everyone is walking out to sit on the bus. Y/n says bye to me and goes off to Mal and Rose, her best friends. They all play together in Washington, are all roommates, and always sit together on the bus for pregame. Just like how I sit with Christen, Tobin, and Alex every pregame. It's a ritual for us. I take my normal seat next to Alex up in the front of the bus, and we all listen to our own music while everyone in the back is hyping everyone up, including my girlfriend.

When we arrived at the stadium, we all got off the bus and ignored the paparazzi trying to ask us their burning questions. Once we were safe inside of the locker room, conversation picked back up and Crystal stated playing her music. I made conversation with Becky and Moe since there my locker neighbors. We really just talked about how awesome it would be to win a second world cup.

I look over at y/n and she's having a blast with Rose while Alex and Carli are trying to keep them under control. When I finish changing, I made my way over to her locker and wrapped my arms around her waist. "Hey baby" She says leaning back into my embrace. "Hey" I mumble into her shoulder. Mal pretends to gag in her mouth causing y/n to laugh. "Kells let y/n finish changing, we have to stay warm ups soon" Alex says as she leaves so she can be the first person out there for warm ups.

"Fine, I'll see you out there" I say kissing her cheek. She smiles and says bye, continuing to change. "Wanna start a small game of rondos with whoever's out there?" I hear Tobin ask me. I spin around and nod to the middy who flicks up the ball at her feet into my hand.

About 20 minutes before game time, we went back into the locker room and put our game time jersey on. Vlatko gave us a speech and announced the starters. As usual, Alex, Pinoe, and Tobin were up front. Y/n, Rose, and Lindsey at midfield. And finally, Crystal, Becky, Abby, and I all on defense with Lys in goal.

Carli, Alex, and Pinoe gave a pep talk and then we walked out to the tunnel. I turn behind me and see Y/n laughing her head off with Rose and Mal. They really are the three musketeers. All of the little girls came and stood by us. I just asked what her name was and how old she was. Her name was Hailey and she was 8. How cute!

We walked out and they played both national anthems. Finally, we all had one more group talk before going to our spots. Y/n started walking away with Rose, until I pull her back and she jumps. "Good luck babe." I say and she grins. "You'll do great Kells." She tells me and we high five. Our relationship isn't exactly public, even though people ship us together because we spend so much time together. I jog over to my spot at right back and y/n goes to hers at left mid.

The ref blows her whistle. It's over. We won. WE WON!! I jump up and down and the first person I see is Rose, so we hug each other. "We won!!" I yell and Rose laughs. "We won!!" She yells back. I feel a weight jump on us from the left side. It was Mal. "We won!!" She yells into our ears causing us to laugh.

We all pull away from each other and jump up and down. Sonnett came over to us and we started celebrating. Sonnett is the life of the party wherever she goes, tell me I'm wrong. The next person I see is my girlfriend running to me, and tackling me in a huge hug. "Babe, can't... breath." I say and she laughs, getting off of me. I look around and see everyone celebrating with other people. Christen and Tobin, Sam and Abby, Julie and Crystal, and so on. So, I rush over to my best friends so I didn't feel left out of everything.

When we were done celebrating in our own world, we received our medals. I was standing in line with Rose and Mal and we were talking about how insane this year is going to be for this team. When it was our turn, we shook a few hands and our medals were placed on our necks. We go and stand by Sonnett and Lindsey and talk with them until it was time to lift the trophy. I watch as Kelley gets her medal and we shoot each other a smile before she goes and stands with Chris and Tobin. Finally, Carli was handed the trophy and we all jumped up when she held it up. Everyone started dancing, and Sonnett was going crazy because she loves dancing.

Finally came the best part of the night, drinking. I was planning on drinking with my friends so we could celebrate.

I made sure to keep an eye on y/n through out the celebration, and I didn't want to get wasted anyways. Hey, new year, new me! 2019 drunk Kelley is gone. I may get a bit tipsy, but i'll be just fine. Everyone was dancing and singing to every song that was played. We put Tierna in charge of music because she's only 20 and isn't allowed to drink, yet.

Even after all the drinking we did, we still had the family celebration after where all of the families could attend. Y/n's family wasn't coming, so she was going to hang out with either me or Mal and Rose. 

We spent three hours celebrating in the locker room, and let me tell you, it was a party! When it was time to go, I had to help Y/n change into different clothes because she was so drunk. We were the last people out of the locker room, and had to catch up to the group. "Come on, I know a short cut to the place." She says and smiles. She grabs my hand and drags me through a sketchy alley.

I heard tires screech and I looked around, but all I saw was darkness. "Y/n we shouldn't be going this way." I say and she laughs a little. We continue to walk and that's when I heard footsteps from behind me. I look around and still see nothing. 

All of a sudden, BANG

I feel Y/n drop to the ground and I scream. I hear footsteps run away and drop to her level. I pull out my phone and call 911 right away. "911 what's your emergency?" The lady asks. "Help! My girlfriends been shot!"
