"m-mione?"

ron stood in the doorframe of the burrows entrance, mouth wide open.

"good evening ronald."
the brunette smiled lovingly.

his eyes wandered up and down hermiomes body, before they focused on the woman behind her.

"parkinson- bloody hell what is she doing here?!" the ginger asked his former best friend, his voice getting louder in disbelief.

"she," pansy chirped up, as she held out her hand, "joins hermione as her date tonight, if you don't mind."

but ron couldn't bother taking the slytherins hand. he stepped aside, paralyzed and wide eyed.

pansy made her way into the cozy warm living room, not noticing how her girlfriend got held back by the weasley.

"by merlins socks, why do you bring a slytherin in our house?" he whisper yelled.

"because," the gryffindore whispered more in a mocking way, "she is my girlfriend and will attend this christmas dinner just as i am."

and she followed pansy to the rest of the red haired family, surely noticing some eyes on her, though she didn't know if it was because of her date or just her appearance.

"hermione dear." a chubby, rather short woman made her way through the people, hugging hermione tight.

"mrs.weasley-" hermione smiled, feeling a little bit relieved.

"look how you've grown since last year," and the older witch eyed her up and down, "you're such a beautiful young lady, and i'm so glad you have brought us another guest." she smiled warmly, turning to pansy, who was now slightly more shy and uncomfortable.

"pansy parkinson, i never expected to meet you at one of our christmas meetings, but feel like home, make yourself comfortable. "

the dinner itself was... different from what pansy knew.

sure, she and her family celebrated christmas, nonetheless it was never a celebration of affection and gratefulness.

she just remembers the stiff way her parents sat at the massive table in their manor, full with delicious, never selfmade, food.

no conversation. no family.

with the weasleys on the other hand, there was plenty of everything.

plenty of loud, joyful dialogs, with some jokes from fred and geogre thrown in between.

plenty of food, but she knew mrs.weasley spend the last three days in her kitchen preparing and cooking.

plenty of soft smiles, shoulder pats, hugs, kisses on the cheek.

plenty of love.

the slyherin turned her head to witness her girlfriend to her left and wasn't disappointed.

hermione was laughing loudly along with fred and bill, her head in her neck, her hand over her mouth to stop more giggles to come out.
her cheeks were a deep red and her other arm was pressing on her stomach, which probably hurt from too much laughing.

as for pansy, it was a sight of heaven.
it burned into her eyes and she knew she could never forget this.

with that, she didn't notice rons somewhat
displeased glances on her, just waiting to burst her small bubble of happiness.
