"Promise me you will be safe. Follow the instructor's directions and don't let anything the people there may say get to your head. Okay?" My father, Carl says to me and hugs me. My plane is about to take off. Connecticut. It is so far from home.
I can't believe my parents are going through with this. I only swore out loud once and I get expelled from my family. It's not fair.
"Alyssa, remember that the only thing you need to do down there is to find Jesus. Nothing else. No friends with any of those people." My mom tells me. I roll my eyes. If they are so scared of those people, what is the whole point of sending me there?
"Alright mom. I will. Take care." And with that, I go straight to the line to aboard the plane.
I wave goodbye to my family and get into the plane.
