Clary

"How come you didn't end up in jail?" I ask Tori.

"What for?"

"Well, you smoked pot in school property and disrespected the teacher and the principal." I explain.

Tori ponders for a while and thinks about it. "Guess because I was a minor when I did that. They couldn't throw me into jail, not even if they wanted to. This," she gestures to the camp, "was the worst thing they could do to me at that moment."

"What do you mean, were a minor?" Melany asks, thirsty for conversation.

"I turned eighteen before getting here and after they decided my punishment. Besides, my parents have a lot of influence in Brooklyn." Tori says, satisfied with her answer.

"Well, happy late birthday?" Alyssa mentions with a crooked smile.

What is wrong with her?

"Thanks." Tori says and asks, "So does that mean I'm the oldest one?"

"Yep." Dakota says. "And I think I am the youngest."

"No way, when were you born?" Melany asks.

"April 25th, 1997."

"Yes, definitely the youngest. I was born on January 2nd, same year." I say.

Melany and Tori look at each other and ask at the same time: "1996?" Then, they realize they said it at the same time and laugh hysterically.

Though I'm pissed for almost being the youngest one, I'm so happy that I'm bonding with these people.
