Chapter 8 : secrets

Jackie wasn't home when I woke up , I suppose she stayed the night at Kyle's . After taking a quick shower and eating cereals I waited for the cab to arrive so I would head straight to " Enterprise Rent-A-Car "

After looking around and trying some cars , I was well satisfied with a silver Chevrolet one , so I signed the papers right away and got the keys

Finally no more cabs , I have never rode them before in my life , we always had our own driver back home so we never really needed them

The car's dash clock indicated that it was now 12:34 , and I had no idea where I would drive to , so I decided to give jackie a call but she didn't pick up

what the hell am I gonna do in this free time ? I decided to go buy some groceries to kill some time since I haven't really bought any food since I moved in

when I waked into the apartment , I found jackie sitting on the kitchen counter sniffing

" Hey?" I asked as I dropped the bags on the counter , not really sure how to act

" Hi" she replied without turning around to me

" Why are crying ?" I never had to deal with somebody crying before

" Nothing " she blew her nose into the tissue

"Doesn't seem like it "

" Kyle and I had a fight , okay? " She snapped and stood up to walk into her room

" What happened between you two" I grabbed her by the arm which caused her to wince in pain , I slowly rose her sleeve to make sure that it wasn't what was on my mind

" Stop" she tried to pull back

" Don't " I shot her an angry look , proceeding what I was doing , after reaching the area , I found some areas on her skin covered in bruises

" Oh my god , Jackie " I gasped " he didn't just beat you , did her " I looked up at her which caused her to cry more

" You let him beat you " I raised my voice

" I .. I couldn't " she cried harder

" Couldn't what " I shouted

" He was angry " she keeps on crying

" That's no excuse "

" he doesn't want it " she rather says to her self

" Want what " I ask

" He doesn't wanna start a family with me , he only wants to mess around with me telling me that he can't live without me and how much he loves me and want us to stay together but if a baby gets involved then it's my faults and that I screwed up moreover he doesn't want anything to do with me , EVER" she hysterically cries while I just stand in front of her trying to take in what was just said

Did she really mention a baby ?

" A Baby?" I ask her

she slowly nods " I am three months pregnant "

" How .. When did you find out " I ask

" Three days ago " she answers " I started getting this morning sickness whenever you were at college , when I felt all of the symptoms once again , I decided to get a pregnancy test and it tuned out to be positive "

" What do you mean by " once again" " I ask but she looks away

" Jackie " I press her

"Please don't tell anyone " she begged
