🖤Chapter Fourteen: Fired🖤

It's been a few weeks since that incident with me letting a stranger into my home. I got my heater fixed and Masaomi bought me a thing of pepper spray to keep with me. He even bought me a charm to put on it.

I've calmed down since then and no longer have to have Mikado walk me everywhere, haha.

Buuuut, with it being Saturday, and I'm running out of food, It's time for work.

I got up at 5:00 in the morning and took a shower, changing into a black and white striped short-sleeved shirt, and casual black skinny jeans. I brushed my hair, and cleaned my teeth, ate breakfast consisting of cereal, and a glass of milk.

Putting the dishes in the sink for me to clean later, I slipped on my old pair of black converse that I can still fit after 3 years and walked out the door with my coat at 7:00 a.m to walk to work, making sure I had my pepper spray in my pocket.

I took out my earbuds and plugged them into my phone, scrolling through my music, trying to find something to listen to. The chilly morning air kissed my cheeks as I walked along the busy streets of Ikebukuro.

Due to me having to walk to work, and the fact that Ikebukuro is a busy city, I left an hour early to get there even though work doesn't start until 8:20.

My music played in my ears as I walked the busy streets of Ikebukuro, the melodic tune calming me down during this early Saturday morning.

City lights beamed, cars and buses drove the streets in heavy traffic, people crowded the sidewalks and streets, going wherever they were going.

A shoulder brushed mine, making me look to my right, seeing a significantly taller figure standing next to me. Walking alongside me.

My eyes widened slightly and my heart dropped. I picked up my pace and flipped my hood up. 'Oh shit. Not him again,' I thought.

"Dammit, kid, hold on just a minute." The voice called. The intimidating tone made me slow my pace slightly but kept walking. I could feel the person next to me, matching my pace as they walked alongside me.

I pulled my coat hood further down my face to avoid any sort of visibility of the person. It was silent and tense, making my heart race a little.

"What are you doing out so early in the morning?" He questioned.

Reluctantly, I responded. "I'm going to work..."

"At 7 in the morning?"

I said nothing but nodded, the hood still covering my head.

"This is too early for someone as young as you to be going to work."

I shrugged, "My boss requires me to clock in early so I don't get in the way of regular hours..."

Even though I couldn't see him, I could tell he frowned deeply. It was silent for a few moments, "...Where do you work? I'll walk you there."

Not wanting to anger him, I told him where I worked, "I work at "Sokiumi's Bar and Grill."

He scoffed in response. "You're better off switching jobs. The boss is a prick."

I huffed, mumbling, "You can say that again..."

Silence fell between us as the city carried on, with the man walking me to work. I had relaxed slightly, not feeling as threatened, but still kept my hood up. We continued walking, the restaurant getting closer; only a block away.
